I'm having a difficulty to understand what you're saying... but uh, my last post was meant to kfcpanda when he's confused about 'azusa&kanon make a deal'

I don't know where you get the idea about someone becoming a president from my post, but yeah I think they must be an active member of student council. As for Tatsuya as VC.. well uh, that's what confused me too but I'll probably wait for the translation to catch up.

When Miyuki heard Tatsuya was coming to the Student Council, she probably offered him her spot.

Since the guy from the 18 assistant houses is the student representative, will he join the Student Council? I remember somewhere in Vol.1 that the freshmen representative is invited to the Council for the last 5 years or so?

I always figured that Morisaki was going to land that post or something like it, after all that would be the only chance for the poor zap to play some sort of (minor) antagonist role.

The twins really look cute and I'm sure they will add trouble to Tatsuya just like their big sister. I think the twin is teasing Mayumi on something but I can't remember the exact detail of that scene. I read it somewhere so I can't say if they know about Mayumi's crush on Tatsuya or they know about Tatsuya.

The family of Mayumi doesn't strike me as someone who looks down on others. The family of Juumonji is the one family that strikes me who looks down on others or just people who wants to put others on their place. Though Juumonji isn't that bad but the orders of his family to him to show up his spell phalanx because a weed was outshining the magicians, speaks to me as a boastful and arrogant family.

And I second the motion for more info about the twins. I also like Mayumi, heck she is my favorite and I'm glad she is back.

I will say that this was more about prestige and protecting the status quo than looking down on someone, you got a nobody that appears out of nowhere beating a Clan heir, if you dont react fast some may want to question the current system, being the top Clan they just could not stay idle.

Nononono! Tatsuya must be either Student Prez or Moral Chairman and Miyuki would be the other (Just imagine Miyuki the Moral Committee QUEEN!) Miyuki is pretty much set as the Student Prez though and she wont be satisfied unless her brother holds at LEAST the same amount of authority she does, thus the Moral Chairman.

Morisaki the SOB can be the Club Leader taking over for Hanzo. Holds some form of power but still beneath the Shiba siblings. he can do his fail antagonizing from there.

real interesting. Takuma is already being an ass, actually glaring at Miyuki, YES at Miyuki! Before running away, The Bastard! (I wonder if he'll get a chapter later showing how cool he really is like Morisaki and Kirihara). Anyway after he left the glares were only aimed at Tatsuya as it should normally be.
Later the usual old 1st Year gang interact with new faces. Leo and Erica remain in the regular course 2 curriculum, but pop on over to the next class to talk to the engineering students Tats and Mizuki. Chiaki is also there already drilling holes in Tats' back and Tomitsuka(a bloom now also an egineering student) who placed 4th overall in vol 3 introduces himself before being pounced upon by a visiting Amy. Also the new class teach is a USNA Boston immigrant. real intesting.

There's a scene in the student council room which is quite packed with morals committee and student council members and I believe Tats has now transferred to the council while Miki has been drafted as his replacement. There’s some silliness with the usual 2 pairs acting overly affectionate and then some discussion about rehearsals for the opening ceremony and freshmen rep’s speech.

Later that day at home Tatsuya is gently reprimanding miyuki about her behaviour when Takuma was making his introductions as the freshmen rep.

We get a flashback and he and Tatsuya introduce themselves, he questions Tatsuya’s Emblem and informed it’s for the new division and he gets uppity and shows his disdain. I think his clan’s signature magic doesn’t involve the use of CADs and they look down upon or down play the use of science and technology with magic. This obviously ticks off the next council member to be introduced to no end. I assume they make some word play off her name cause as the pic shows The Queen of Ice Snow descends. With her conceding look and cold greeting he nearly scurries away and gets embarrassed and angry for succumbing to her pressure. Honoka eases the atmosphere with her intro and they finish up the rehearsal.

Back to the present and they discuss the punks ambitions and miyuki defends herself by saying she feels he was already antagonistic to them both before their first meeting and her response was to confront him first, which Tatsuya agrees after thinking back that his glare in the morning might have been targeted at them both.

They discuss various reasons on why he would be hostile to them but never come around to the truth of them supposedly already being supporters of Takuma’s rivals the Saegusas.

Next – Kasumi’s Flying Knee Attack to protect her sister from the bug clinging to her.
- Tatsuya meets an over-enthusiastic fan of his. What he feels is a male version of Honoka.

Next day the Shibas with Minami this time head to school and meet up with Isori and Honoka. They notice the freshman and Tats calls her over for introductions. Since she answered the call with ‘Yes Tatsuya nii-sama’ Isori questions if he always had another sister, which seems to upset Minami. The cousin lie is given & Minami extends on the name use.

Azusa, Kanon & Takuma enter and Azusa already feels a tense atmosphere from the upset Minami. When the morning greets are done with and Miyuki still being very aloof with Takuma cause he hasn’t apologised, Azusa is frozen as she cannot bring herself to reprimand this super cold Miyuki and Tatsuya also doubts his own ability against her in this mode. He and Kanon move the conversation on to the entrance ceremony schedule before the group breaks up.

Tatsuya is enjoying a walk around the grounds and using the surrounding nature to ease the tension picked up from before & wonders if the unlikely event of him meeting Mayumi at the previous ceremony was her taking a stroll for similar reasons… and then of course he bumps into a casually dressed Mayumi.

After a little school chit chat she tries to pry loose Tats’ thoughts. He reluctantly reveals her clothing is quite different from when they similarly 1st met. She replies of course as she was a student and so she its natural to be in casual clothing. She coaxes out of him how much more mature she looks which makes her feel like a different person, but it suits her. While glowing from the praise she then thinks again & asks if by different person he means she now looks like a grown up. While Tatsuya tries to explain he never thought of her looks as being baby-like she shows another shocked expression as she now thinks he meant she had a childish body.

While he continues to deny her statements with her scolding him quite close together and tries to change the subject, they hear someone shouting out ‘You Nanpa-man!’ (wiki it) ‘Get away from my Onee-sama’ and see a freshman step out of some trees. He’s of course confused and seeing no one else around is a little put off but undertands someone could have mistaken their positions. When he helps to stabilize a falling Mayumi who at the shout had jumped back too quickly in her heels, he is treated to a magically aided flying knee attack from Kasumi Saegusa.

Which is beautifully counted by raising his single hand to catch the knee in his palm and with the momentum push her up and away like not dissimilar to a move from a ballet. She’s quite surprised he does this without aid of any magic and nearly falls hard before her twin Izumi rushes in with some skilled magic to protect her fall. She prepares to attack again with her CAD only to be stopped cold by a never before seen furious and flustered Mayumi.

She furiously scolds them about their attempt to break the rules on magic restriction their very 1st day of school and has all of them bow down in apology to Tatsuya and begs he not mention this to council (‘you know who’). Tatsuya is now eager to get away from the image of these 3 lovely girls bowing before him as if he's bullying them and plays it off saying its no trouble as she wasn’t really planning to knee him. We see a surprised freshman face again as he somehow saw through her magic to decelerate right before reaching his face. Escape-

Tatsuya later finds a lost Caucasian looking youth who has silver eyes, white skin & platinum colour hair. He calls out to him as Smith cause he resembles his new engineering teacher. The freshman makes a crack about the romanisation of his name which Tats believe maybe a defence to previous teasing.

He helps the youth out by showing some quick software skills on a very old USNA tool the kid was using. The boy enthusiastically shows his thanks and reveals he knows about Tats from the 9 schools competition and seems to have changed his High School choice from 4th High due to Tatsuya’s super technician rep. He declares his aim to join the engineering division as Tatsuya sends him on his way while thinking the freshman’s intent stare reminds him of Honoka.

In the ceremony hall the twins sit down and I believe Izumi informs her sister Kasumi about the boy she attacked. As she gets shocked over and over about his exploits as the last 9 schools competition’s undefeated super tech, the sole reason for a new engineering division and the man who helped her sister in crowd ball Kasumi is astonished she totally new nothing of him and only Izumi noticed this bad bug clinging to her sister while she was oblivious. She finally finds her words and announces she still doesn’t like him. Cue ominous music

-Shippou confirmed as being similar to Matou Shinji - there's something about that seaweed-hairstyle that screams you're unlikable. Due to Shippou's family trait 'Million Edge' that allows them to cast spells without a CAD, he looks down on Tatsuya's talent with CADs and the Magic Technician department Crest on Tatsuya's uniform. Miyuki got pissed at that (Illustration here: http://i49.tinypic.com/20idjly.jpg) and Shippou got completely overwhelmed by her oppressive aura. Granted, it's nowhere near the one Miyuki pulled out during the last election, but to first-timers feeling this it's a tad too much.
Later on, Tatsuya and Miyuki discussed various reasons why Shippou seems to hold enmity towards them, concluding that the Shippou family as one of the 18 assistant houses doesn't have the resources to break through Yotsuba's info-control. None of them even considered it's because they're thought to be linked with the Saegusa family. They decided to be careful, since it's one of the twenty-eight families (10 main + 18 assistants) they're facing after all.

Oh, and more Miyuki/Tatsuya shipping moments: Miyuki comes to the conclusion Shippou is focused on Tatsuya with his enmity, and he (almost) gave a spit-take. He said it's more likely it's because Miyuki was last year's freshmen representative, he's just a extra attachment that comes along with her. Miyuki vehemently denies that's the case, if anything she's his attachment/possession (Flere821: ... I'm not sure if you can't call this yandere with her fixation...), and says at the very least Tatsuya is her important partner. Tatsuya can't convince Miyuki otherwise, and changed the topic to whether Shippou's family broke through Yotsuba's info-control.

- Mayumi showed up at the 1st High's opening ceremony in casual clothes, and there was much rejoicing from her fans in the Chinese fandom
Mayumi teased him that he's a lot different now compared to this time last year, and Tatsuya decided to return the favour in his snarking/teasing: she looks a lot more mature than before with her choice of clothing, and Mayumi took a while before she realized he's implying she has a childish appearance/attitude, a loli-esque body, and making fun of her short height compared to her peers. Mayumi staggered at the implications and Tatsuya 'innocently' (heh) asked if she's alright. Mayumi stepped closer to accuse him of making those insinuations and he tried to suggest he didn't do so in any way, resulting in a compromising position that can leads to misunderstandings. As narrative convention dictates, one of Mayumi's twin younger sisters saw those two and thought Tatsuya is hitting on Mayumi and rushed to intervene. Translation stopped here for the day, so tune in tomorrow to see what happens from here on

Chinese fans have discussed the possibility that Tatsuya's emotional flaw is slowly disappearing, with the latest part of him trolling Mayumi. Things are certainly more interesting this way

I would very much appreciate if Tatsuya would gradually get back emotions. Deadpan only gets you so far with a story. Having him trade some barbs (or one could say: flirting) would only raise the fun factor by 284%
