Dafaq. Didn't this series bomb? Totally was not expecting a movie for this.
Not that I'm unhappy since this and Natsurio Kiseki (which wasn't a idol series, but a promotion for Sphere) are the only two idol series I actually found likable, whilst not being a fan of neither Idolmaster/Love Live. |

(Anyone know how Japanese taxes work? Could this be like Uwe Boll movies, where the point is to lose money and claim a tax write-off?) |

I heard the rumors and I can't believe it's actually happening. A movie sequel to Wake Up Girls is happening. I'm so giddy as a schoolgirl (metaphorically speaking of course) I'm a huge fan of Wake Up Girls. I loved the movie and anime and everything. Too bad it's still under the shadows of the IdolM@ster and Love Live due to the two being more popular and well known.
I, for one, welcome my WUG overlords "bows head' and will follow every news or anything related to this production. Am I alone in saying that I enjoyed Wake Up Girls more than the IdolM@sater and Love Live combined? I love Love Live too death, but Wake Up Girls appealed to me more.

The pair of films will be titled Wake Up, Girls! Zoku Gekijōban (Wake Up, Girls! Continuation Movie). The film will feature the return of the TV anime's staff, with Yutaka Yamamoto directing the film at his studio Ordet. Touko Machida is writing the scripts, and Chikaoka Sunao will serve as both the character designer and animation director. Satoru Kousaki from MONACA will compose the music, and DIVEⅡentertainment will produce the sound. The cast of the seven main girls will also return to reprise their roles. |

Two films sounds like a stretch (especially after how the TV series struggled in the animation department). Really hoping Yamakan and his team can pull this off.
More Kaya and Yoppi screentime is always welcome
