because Bright was under orders from Ronan Marcenas to seize the key to Laplace's box..

and the worry that such a powerful toy is in the hands of a 16 year old boy

IMO, the Unicorn is still in Destroy Mode, but the NT-D is inactivated. No idea why it doesn't transform back/Banagher faints.

Maybe the transformation mechanism was incomplete?

i think at this time, Banagher is able to control when the NT-D would activate .

Man he gave those guys the business! Well Kirks was pretty also.

By the way how did the Feds get so effed up by super old Zeon MS anyway? Weren't all those MS from the One Year War period?
If it hadn't been for the Byalant and the Bright squad that would have been remarkably embarrassing....

Well, those MS were not THAT old since it's been less then 20 years after the One Year War and they were state of the art MS then...but then again you might argue that in Gundam-verse that's like the difference between a WWII Tiger I Panzer and an M1 Abrams.

Still, as others have mentioned, the Federation forces at Torrington were taken by surprise. It was a coordinated attack carried out by seasoned soldiers, many of whom were from the days of the One Year War and they had been waging guerilla wars against the Feddies all this time. By contrast I'd imagine many of the Federaion pilots were recruits who'd never seen combat since Earth itself was in relative peace since the Gryps Conflict. Add to that the fact that they were up against melee type MS like the Gouf, Dom, Z'Gok etc which had better mobility and thicker armour.

Didn't bother to go through the pages but would like to point out that the Final fight in this episode was heavily changed. the episode could of actually went another 15-20 minutes so they just changed it.

The Feds were also using fairly old mobile suits from the earlier wars (Neo Zeon movements). Aside from being surprised, the Torrington base have noticably poor anti-air coverage too. To think that after the horrific Dakar raid, every Federation base should have been on high alert. But this is Universal Century.

The Nemo III didn't even get the chance to sortie.

IMO, Feddies are already in a decline.

i kind of pity Banagher, Mineva, Riddhe and Loni (damn, Loni's english VA really got me all emotional)..

i especially like the "bound by blood curse" theme about children being "consumed by the wishes of their parents who gave them life.." well written theme IMO.

This was an awesome piece of work. A bit too fast on the pacing but MS museum aside I really really liked how it explored Zimmerman's charatcter. He's a man with flaws, but a lot of heart.

Federation has been corrupt even the day before they staged the Laplace's attack/accident. When I first watched OYW back maybe 15 years ago, I always thought EFF were the good guys mainly because of General Revil and White Base crew. After that, they've been on a steady decline, enjoying luxurious lifestyle for themselves.

Yeah, Revil was one of the good guys. That said, I didn't really like how the rest of the federation kept on abandoning White Base and using it as bait.
