Eh, is a Tsundere thing for standard Rom-Com story. Plus, later volumes she get nicer and less violent. As opposed to Louise who always is.

If you deduct the whip and fireballs, I can say she is a lot better than a lot of girls I met in real life at that age. I knew plenty of girls at that age who would gossip and ruin your life and do bullishit stuff like kick you down the stairs to impress their friends for FUN, and not to express bad jealousy or insecurity :P

Summary of the prologue
-Claire and Fianna meet Rubia
-Claire think Rubia = Khan the Shapeshifter, tried to burn her, but Rubia use her frozen flame to cancel Claire's
-Rubia use mind control (the same one the Corpse Arm dealer tried and fail to use in 3) to take control Claire, and Fianna realize that was exactly the reason why Rubia took her mask off, to shock Claire so she couldn't focus and resist.
-Fianna wanted to break Claire's MC, but her summon Spirit (The knight) is already destroyed, so she end up picking up Restia instead.
-Rubia ask Fianna if she want to use the sword against her.
-Fianna (desperately try not to shake), hoped since Rubia also come from Divine insitute, isn't trained in weapon fighting. But in less than 4 years she is already @ Kamito level.
-Fianna demand Rubia release Claire, and asked to take place to be the "Dark Princess" instead (per V8)
-Rubia reply it has to be a companion to Kamito, so technically all the girls can apply ^_^
-Rubia also said Claire has the highest potential, when Fianna asked isn't Rubia known as a 100-years-once genius, she said Scarlet choose to Contract with Claire, and Claire should had been the Fire Princess.
-Fianna complain all Claire wanted to see Rubia that is why she appear in the Black Dance. Rubia said she knows.
-Fianna attacks, and Rubia gently push her on to the ground.
-Then Rubia saw the sword (full name: Restia Rendoll), and said "Now the Demon king is about to awake, you are in the way", and prepare Frozen Flame to kill Restia for once and for all.
-We get to hear Claire stammer "NOOOOO"

Rubia only fighting at the end of vol. 7 and it's just a little.

After reading Vol.10 prologue, I have impression that Rubia want to awaken Kamito and take control of him. As Restia goal was to awaken the demon power for Kamito to use it. So, Restia is the biggest obtacle of Rubia's plan.

@sandhy I actually slightly disagree. I think both of them want kamito to awaken. Restia wanted to awaken him because he's the only one capable of fulfilling the wish. As for Rubia she wants to awaken the demon power to kill the other elemental lords. Rubia realized very well that the only way for Kamito to come back was to become ren ashbell. I think it turns out Rubia somehow met restia and they both wanted to kill the elemental lords. They realized Kamito was the heir and since she knew of the instructional school it works out nicely. Its kinda one of those u scratch my back I scratch yours

They have the same goal. But different method.
Restia -> Awaken Kamito. Telling her reason, Kamito kill Elemental Lord with his accord.
Rubia -> Awaken Kamito. Controling him. Kill Elemental Lord with Kamito like puppet.

After reading all volume, I think Rubia not consider all living being as Human, Spirit, even her sister. At prologue of vol. 10, she coldly take control of Claire without expression.
