Soft subs won't show after installing Broadcom CRYSTAL HD (mini PCI-E chip)

To netbook users... anyone here faced similar problem after installing a video decoder chip made by Broadcom?

I'm glad that I can now watch 1080p youtube and 720p crunchyroll clips without stuttering and dropping frame rates... my only problem is that while .mkv anime fansubs play real smooth with CCCP+MPC, subs just won't show

Enable MPC-HC's internal subtitle renderer:
View-> Options-> Playback-> Tick Auto-load subtitles.
Under View>Options> Subtitles, you might want to increase resolution and make sure that 'Allow animation when buffering' is ticked and untick 'Round up to power of two'.

VSFilter is borked for YUY2 video which is what the CrystalHD card spits out.
