Sennin mode hasn't been retired though.

Based on that cross shaped eye thing he had going on when he got stabbed by the black chakra rod and rejected it, I still wonder if we'll move towards some kind of fusion of the two forms by the end.

that was a really awesome episode! a couple things made me laugh though, like how naruto couldnt recognize itachi and nagato until they were about 25 feet apart in an open space and when itachi creeped out from behind the tentacle after his genjutsu. just unintentionally amusing animation =)

the animation is terrible, only god knows why, but the content was great...If only LOST was as faithful in it's writing as Naruto...

That's because the production of the last 3 episodes has been outsourced to low quality studios. It's only natural after having something like Chikara air on TV.
Things should be back to normal soon.

it's quite annoying to see the best parts of the story and action being down in low quality animation while some dumbass fillers get high quality animation. I understand that those episodes were meant to be a movie, but the whole thing doesn't make sense. The same was done around the Naruto vs Pain fight, that was also one of the greatest parts of the whole story and it was on average mediocre animation.

they usually only bust out the awesome animation for 1 or 2 episodes per arc. this arc is only just getting good. i'm sure they are saving it for a few episodes down the line. i'd like to have the great animation every episode, but expecting it would be fruitless. considering this was not the top quality animation, i actually liked it and thought they did an above average job on this episode. it was better than the bulk of the war up until now for certain

That was a really nice fight.
Those two were lucky Itachi helped them out.
Honestly, I was surprised he would help at all.

I really don't get the point about the use of the kyuubi chakra, They say he has a limit, but it lasts forever, also when he finally has to go back to normal it takes 2 minutes to recharge? There has to be some catch that i'm missing.

As far as I can remember, Naruto has never been affected by any 'limit' he has been warned about.

Well, there's still one weakness to overuse of Chakra Mode. Each time he uses it, he's playing that tug-o-war game with the Nine Tails again. Usually it's not much of an issue since Naruto's in control now, but should his own chakra completely run out, forcing access to even more of the Nine Tails' chakra would become dangerous.

I can't completely disagree, but I've long accepted Naruto is a one-trick pony. He just thinks up some new strategies using moves he already knows. He comes up with some dang nice plans sometimes, but he doesn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel or change a winning team.
