I don't mean to draw out the focus on anime vs. game with this post or the one made previously, but I wanted to voice some agreement with the person who originally made a comment on it.

It's driving me insane, trying to figure out who he was talking to!
I always try to guess the culprit but always fail...maybe I'm just bad at solving mysteries(even in Detective Conan) or maybe as many have said, there weren't enough clues given. But other than that it is an entertaining anime so far but....I'm a bit traumatized after the whole butter thing though..... |

hah, I know who monobear is talking to, and that's very interesting. refer to the previous episode for the clue.
also, there's something I do not quite get, but may have been explained in the game, how exactly did mondo(?) know about genocider sho's modus? I know there's a copy at the library and he could've read it from there, but why did he choose it of all the ways he could've killed chihiro? did he know the serial killer was in their midst (kinda impossible)? or that did he just choose to adopt the same style as genocider sho? I think it was mentioned before that the cases were quite famous, and that the crucifixion with scissors thing were not publicly known, so that completely rules out mondo having read the secret file, but still why did he decide to hang chihiro that way? did togami tamper with the crime scene to such an extent that he made it look like genocider sho was the killer? or was his tampering only limited to switching the rooms? |

nope.
i didnt watch the subs coz im lazy, i dont know if this not explained in anime timeline :1. oowada kill fujisaki and put the corpse in woman changing room, then leave 2. oowada leave the room 3. togami happen to see oowada leaving the room 4. "ah this is boring" said togami 5. togami then edit the dying condition to sho style basically, togami was trolling...

So I've just started this anime and got to ep 5. I expected some sort of death tournament thing, instead I got phoenix wright o.O.
The characters are just awful, I see no purpose in making your characters that caricatured and one-dimensional. I really hated the game-ish scenes in the court and the "cut scene" style executions. Why are they making an anime if it's just to make things like a game? The first murder was OK because as a viewer it was possible to figure out who the culprit was from the numbers. But the second murder is just rubbish. There was no way we could know the dude was a cross dresser, or about the bookworm having a split personality and being a serial killer -.-. Not to mention this is just outlandish and stupid, nobody has a serial killer or crossdresser as a classmate. At this point it's like we're watching someone do a walkthrough of a game. If as a viewer I'm not even given enough info to figure out who the culprit is, then what's the point? None, nothing. They just go deus ex machine at the end and pull out stuff out of their rear-ends. |

And I assure you there will be character development in the future which won't disappoint. And in my opinion, the finale blows away all phoenix wright games. |

I could finally catch up with the series and I have no reason to drop it. I will first judge it after it finished though.
Keep in mind who everyone is. They are specialists in their own areas (I am not sure about the MC yet but he seemed to have a good sense for deductions), so it is a given that they can be a bit strange. Being the best in something can be either pressuring (as we saw with the the biker), or cause strange side-effects.

Fujisaki being a trap was pretty obvious tbh; the anime made it even more obvious by showing he has a tool kit.
While it is admittingly not forbiddden to lend those out, most people would arrive at the conclusion that the toolkit is his, as long as they don't see a sewing kit on the table.
