I knew the ending without the details a year ago.
But small things, or lack thereof, make all the difference.
Tragedy has nothing to do with it being poorly defined, lazily written piece of turd.

It's funny because over in the light novel thread the first post by stuopidget spills the beans.

Not sure what your upset about, I thought the ending was very good. The fights were awesome as was the final show down. What Shichika did at the end puzzles me a bit, I will have to wait for the subbed version for an explanation on that.

I find it hard to believe that anybody expected her to survive, throughout the series it has been stated what a weak constitution she had and yet people expect her to survive two gunshots to the abdomen? It is sad that she did expire though as I really did like her character and she and Shichika made a good pairing.

Spoiler for Deviant Blade Fights:

I like how Shichika destroyed all the swords, walking through those guys like they were nothing. Some of those deaths were brutal, Tsurugi and Yoroi especially. I liked how Shichika did not kill the user of Hakari since he/she was a child, just knocked him/her out.

Daniel of all people is raging? That's probably the biggest twist the final episode could ever present for me, lol. (That and how sweet Hitei became at the end. O_o I love her 100 times more now that she acts like that.)

I already knew the ending far in advance since I read all of the spoilers in the light novel thread many months ago. It looks good animated, and I can't wait to see the subbed version so that all of the little blanks I have remaining can be filled in.

Get ready to cry, peeps.

Damn that was godlike. 10/10 on this anime, well heh heh after all it has deemed itself my favourite anime. I love Shichika's killing phrase: "CCCHHHHEEERRRRIIOOOOOOO!!"

Very bloody fighting there lol, I just couldn't help but laugh at Yoroi's death. So twisted and amazing. Maniwa Boufura now has a friend whom he can relate his death to: Kuizame! lol Even if he is an X-Maniwa. Kinda felt that Mekki's influence over the last shogun warrior really twisted my thoughts, hehe "SHIKIZAKI SHIKIZAKI AAAAAAAAAHH!!!!" and Well, I liked all of the guy's. Except for the Owari Savage guy, and Zantou Namakura. I find it intriguing how some of the shogun warriors had brutal deaths, and others light simple ones.

I loved the song, and the animation it fit well with the show. and I love Hitei's new haircut and playful side. Especially how she wore Emonzaemon's mask on the side of her head I couldn;t help but get a warm fuzzy feeling. I also got that when Shichika was fighting Emonzaemon, and when Emonzaemon used: "Shinobaz-- No, DANZAIEN ENTOU!!"

I still will not be able to get over this series. ;_;

This is an example of why I usually say eastern literature is hard for westerners to digest because it very rarely has a better-than-bittersweet ending.

Heck, I'm already bracing for the howls when the author of Spice&Wolf pens the last sentence -- eastern literature just tends to go to a bitter or ambivalent end.

Hosoya did great the whole scene, but Yukarin T__T you can do better than that ... where are the tears?!?! The cracking of your voice?!?! Ah!!!! It's ruined!!!! I don't know what Daniel Lind considered horrible about this last episode, but this right there probably killed most of the episode for me. At least I can go back to my essay now <__< but

I agree with all of this. Not to say Yukarin was bad; no, not at all. I just expected her, and that scene overall, really, to be more dramatic. Not that it wasn't dramatic, but I guess I'm saying that I was expecting over-the-top drama, as opposed to the "silent/gentle heartbreak" vibe the whole thing had.

And yes, Hiteihime is so fucking adorable. >_< She went from yum yum sexyhime to OMG kawaiihime.
