Levi pointed the reason out himself. Just telling him to do it and to shut up could would not be effective for Eren as Eren is very impulsive and just telling him to do it because he "should" without anything at all would lead Eren to simply change into Titan form, because he "could not let them die anymore" or something like that. Levi's actual approach of "Hey Eren, trust us, we know what we do, so get a grip and ride on" was more effective than "shut up and follow orders" in the end.

It may have been a test as well. Is Eren able to work with the recon corps, or will he always try to get through with what he himself thinks is best?

For the episode... it had both its good sides and bad sides. I really liked the flashback scene as it taught us more about Eren's ability. Not only does Eren need to be injured, he also needs to have a clear motivation in his mind to change. In the well he wasnt motivated at all so it didnt happen. Though i was a bit unsure why didnt Eren's hands heal after the well scene? His super healing isnt automatic? Oh and... gotta mention Hanji. She was so happy at seeing titan Eren, or atleast part of it. I think she burned her hands quite bad lol.

Was a bit boring that forest scene really. It felt like that in the manga too. But yeah, it was about Eren deciding to trust Levi and his teammates and seems like it payed off? Also seems like hardly anyone knew of the plan to capture female titan, to prevent the plan leaking for sure. They dont know who their enemy is so they are being extra careful.

The look of shock on female titans face when she was captured... she sure didnt expect that to happen.

That sounds reasonable enough. Levi's usually a pretty stand-offish kind of guy who's generally curt with most people and not opposed to brutally beating the crap out of people. So it's easy to forget that he can be understanding sort of person at times. This and the first scene episode 9 show why his soldiers like him despite his rough manner.

Maybe he's just Tsundere after all.

Decent episode. I'm really disappointed that there was no showdown between the female titan and Eren. But it's obviously inevitable, so I'm going to guess it'll be in the final 2-3 episodes.

I really don't think they needed over half an episode to show that Eren needs a motive/goal to turn Titan. Sure, that's an important piece of information, but half an episode is a little overkill.

It feels like this has taken a sudden gory turn after the second half started. Hell, next episode they have more black bars stuck in her face then Pain does in Naruto. *Ba dum tss*

Seriously though, that's brutal. Looking forward to the characters reactions. I pray they don't drag it out.

Overall episode was awesome. Didn't mind the character building mixed in with the action

None, they're all unappealing. I also don't get the appeal of Christine, she does pretty much nothing but find horses from the last ep.

Anyway, the ep was basically like the earlier ones, why couldn't a lot of this have been shown a few eps earlier?Maybe it'll lead to something good later down the road.

Nice episode, the duality of the Survey Corps' attitude towards Eren was interesting. On one hand, they want to get along with him, on the other they don't trust his power and are ready to kill him anytime. I was really impressed with the fact that they apologized to him.

The plan to trap the female type was also well executed, though costly.

The episode was a bit boring at first, but that scene where they captured the female titan got me really pumped.

I think only Annie has the proper air about her in that dress, although I would definitely marry Mikasa. Does anyone else think she really looks like Yuna from FFX?
