Now this was an amusing episode. I also can't help but agree with the analogy of tea & cake = alcohol & drugs here, btw. The parallel is far too strong to not be drawn. Yui even looked like a druggie at a few points as she was offering cake to Azusa. Good times and a fun ep, I give it an 8/10.

I feel the same, the episode was boring to me, i dont know but the jokes and situasions are always the same and there wasnt any developement of the plot with Azusa. I hope this change in the next episode.

Well I expected this show to be character driven, which seems to be the norm for slice of life but so far that doesn't seem to be the case. It's more moe driven than anything else. That's kind of a "your mileage may vary" style.

No, I probably need to monitor my blood sugar. Hidamari Sketch is already threatening that.

EDIT: It should be moe, cake and fuwa fuwa time. Sounds just right

Spoiler for on three characters, this time it's somewhat positive:
You are SO right on! I LOL'd as I thought about it... Mugi is SO the pusher... look at how amused she was at Yui getting Azu hooked with her first free taste, and then later we see that Azu gets all shiny when Yui pushes the cake closer to her... classic habituated response. After a while Azu doesn't even question it anymore... then she wakes up and tries to break free only to be lured back into the den (club?) of iniquity!

Then Mio is lamenting that she's not being used as moe fodder anymore... seems like a metaphorical sexual addiction to me.... And Sawako is enabling them like a kind of manager who will do anything to isolate the girls, including dressing them up as freak animals so that she can just keep them all doped up and playing to her fetishes.

it's a SICK show I tell ya! LOL!

Considering it was the cake (mixed with a little guilt and the other three's lackluster preformance) that keeps Yui in the club. And that the tea and cake only arrived when Ritsu and Mio's antics convinced Mugi to join them...you wonder if I even have a point?

Do I?

K-ON! Club
Founder: Ritsu
Second member: Mio
Third member: Mugi (sweets vault)
Fourth member: Yui
Fifth: Azusa

I could say that Azusa likes sweets like Yui (only Yui can calm her down), pragmatic like Mio and (enthusiastic like Ritsu?)

*now that Azusa is getting all of the attention...*
Mio: I feel lonely.
*later*
Mio: I need to go back to the clubroom, forgot something.
*gets cellphone*
Mio: doki doki
*gets nekomimi and wears it*
*Ritsu pops out*
Mio: Look a mustache?
Ritsu: What an excuse!

It seems no one has rated it lower than "Good" though. (from the Overrated thread, K-ON! is quite new XD)

I really hope Kyo-Ani/Kakifly is not consciously doing this TwT ..

People have lots of interpretations .. but that definitely is the worst

Most of the tea and cake scenes are straight from the manga.

I guess it drives home the feel that the club is about fun first, and music second.

I may be a wee bit screwed in the head for saying this but I think the interpretation is genius but it's a twisted interpretation and this is a light hearted series we're talking about here. So I very much doubt they're doing that on purpose.

However, going back to one of my other posts that burst of energy by Yui there could merely just be a sugar rush

My last memory of a male being talking in the series, was a male teacher talking to Sawa-chan. Before that, it was the shop keeper at the instrument store.

To conclude, it looks like the gender ratio is 99:1...
