the character had more character development in the entire New Testament is Touma, Mikoto was the only one who had character regression (vol 6 to 7), and I can not help thinking that Kamachi was forced to find a place for her in the story due to superior orders in the earlier volumes, anyway, both Mikoto as the Index had a decent share in the current volume.

Quote:
Nah, Mikoto still is the same, just look at NT7, her mentality and grasp of things are the same, thats why I doubt she ever will have a catharsis that will led to get an awakening by her own.
know something funny? in some forums and on facebook many fans when will judge fighting capabilities of the espers are always taking into account the "awakening", eg "Kanzaki could never win the Mugino because she can" awakening "or "Acqua can not beat Misaki because one day she will have wings of light." ridiculous treating a condition that we still do not really know so banal, and judge that all esper can reach it.

I really wouldn't call that character regression. Definitely not.

For volume 6? nope.

Volume 7? comedy.

it was comedy? then my fault for forgetting to find it funny, and it does not change the fact that it was ridiculous, at least for me. remain with the belief that Touma was the best character work in NT

Just because you don't find it funny doesn't mean it turns into a "regression" It just wasn't funny to you.

look, I'm not the only person who thinks this. as I'm not the only person who thinks Brunhild took lightly against Mikoto, even though she has gone with the intention to kill, I mean, I recently killed a cockroach and not used 15% of my true power, back to the subject, yes, I see it as a ridiculous situation that practically disregarded all the things she said and did in the previous volume.

What did it exactly disregard? and so other people thinking it means its a fact now? and it's ridiculous to you, sure, but certainly not "regression"

EDIT: I will agree that Touma has had the most development and because it was needed. Which is all around good.

And thus, it starts again. Inb4 someone else posts post about character development/regression etc ... they should first define what the previous development were about.

I didn't find it funny.

Judging nt6-7 alone indeed it counts as regression, however if you look at the overall character(including nt2-3) what the author did was just to keep the character status quo, that way he could repeat the same "jokes" again and again. Its a common practice among japanese series with characters who have tsundere.

Why people bothers with it?

Because they misunderstood it and put their hopes high on Mikoto. Just that.

^ And let me ask the question again more properly since you missed the post above yours :

"What was in NT6 that made NT7 a regression?"

Congratulations?

And there you go thus it isn't regression. You still have not given me concrete details. Thank you:

By the way, there's nothing from NT6 mentioning she'll stop being a violent tsundere, right?

Like I said, is just the fan having too high their hopes.

@Stark
I forgot to add the "" on regression as I did on the "jokes" part.

I take it that the "fans" just misunderstood, then. Just as usual.

Just like how everyone and their mothers believed hard like rock Accelerator cured his sister disease after WWIII, while clearly only his villain/hero complex was addressed.

I thought this was obvious.

I also think that part of NT 07 is comedy and shouldn't be taken as regresion, hell I feel all NT was one big novel of pure fan service.

Well finally finish the novel... is it weird I find people can regen, reattach, and regrown lost limbs but Fiamma is still missing his arm.

And that Xanatos Gambit, I rank Othinus very high on my likes list now due to that.

Well, Fiamma's arm is special so he might need some special conditions to regrow it again.

Btw, Othinus, yeah she is smart however I don't have her in my list because she lacks the charisma Fiamma had since he appeared. I'm not even asking for background or her past, any character with charisma can't be likeable with just that, just think of Phibrizzo from Slayers.

Well I like Phibrizzo due the same reason, both are strong, and smart but I do give you that she lacks on the charisma department (and not that charisma).

she doesn't need the charisma to me

in my eyes, she surpasses Fiamma in terms of 'fear'
thats what I really like about her
