I was gonna wait until i play the PS3 version of the game to watch this, though no way i'll be waiting now i know who will be working on the score for this. No way.

I might take a look at this, knowing the BMG would be godly (I'm really happy with what the guy is doing with FMA:Brotherhood). I really liked Ring a Bell. So the music department looks great. Production I.G means good animation and usually pretty good direction too.

Never played the game, just because I never had a console in my life .

Well here's a sample of some of his music from Victory Gundam:

There's actually two of them overlapped. The second one is one of my favourites, but honestly nothing beats this track which is my favourite BGM of all time:

I was just talking to Shiro the other night about how Senju Akira is in a league of his own when it comes to composing music. Tales of Vesperia should be no different.

Gave the above tracks a listen, and he's pretty good. Nothing to cream my pants over, but it's definitely much better news that Senju is doing it instead of Motoi Sakuraba or something. I'm looking forward to this movie~

Okay, the movie's out. We can now move this out of the "Unaired" forum, and start talking about it.

Regrettably... I haven't seen it. Anyone else here seen it?

I don't think many people here are going to be able to see it until the DVD release.

Wow, that was long... It's been a while since I've watched an entire movie.
It was... pretty interesting, I guess. At least, it was about 68 times more interesting than the game was.
Spoiler for movie:

Anyone know which group is subbing this? I'm honestly refreshing the page every 30 minutes to see if subs for this is up.

Now I don't know much about this series and only went into this with limited knowledge from reading some of the manga but it's nothing complicated at all and is simply a great watch.
Altho obviously playing the game would help with the background details.

Animation was slick and some of the Yuri action() scenes were pretty cool and BGM was totally top notch as I would have expected.
Not to say this doesn't have it's fill of moments that make you think "wth?" like Yuri surviving the falling Golem totally unhurt, now thats what I call luck but it's nothing that I could hold against it.

If ToV comes to Europe for PS3 I'm def picking up a copy.

btw the animation at the end is that supposed to be events that lead up to the game or parts of the game?

It's actually the OP sequence of the game.

EDIT: This needs to be moved to the Tales of subforum.

The production quality seems to be top notch for this movie, I have but one complaint- I wanted more focus on the twins as well !! They seem to compliment Flynn and Yuri quite well.

That answered a few questions I had after beating the game. Disappointed the twins didn't get more screen time though, yearr.

Watched the film (subbed by Chihiro), and thought it was decent. My eyes almost exploded trying to tell the difference between the twins though... until the captain kindly pointed it out to me.

Damn, I totally thought that was some preview for a sequel of the film too; such a tease for a non-game-player like me. In fact, I shouldn't even be surprised, since one of my deepest impressions of this whole thing is that it's supposed to be some massive promotional video for the Vesperia game.

Spoiler for The First Strike:

Either way, in the end The First Strike was still a very enjoyable movie for me so I'd gladly give it a 8.6/10. Now if only the entire Vesperia gets the OVA treatment like Symphonia did somewhere in the near future....

I noticed that from the promotional images and stuff, but the way the captain said it out and Yuri's absolutely oblivious reply while Flynn blushed had me cracking

I'm not quite getting what you mean here.

A bit of trivia: Production I.G. did in fact do the OP animation for the game and as far as I'm aware, all the Tales of game OPs and cutscenes as well, which is another reason why I love them.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets its own TV anime ala Abyss, considering the popularity of Vesperia and Yuri dominating the character rankings. I've also heard about plans for a possible sequel to the game via another movie... which would suck for us non-gamers.
