The story is of Kirby growing up in Dreamland, the experiences he has, the people he meets, and the trials he must face before his final confrontation with Nightmare.
Spoiler for Full Story Summary:
The story begins long before Kirby’s arrival on Popstar- and long before even Popstar or Dreamland even existed. The story truly begins with the creation of the universe. With the first life, for life does not exist without suffering and death. As they say, there can be no light without darkness.
This darkness and all of life’s pain took form, a terrible being known as Nightmare, feeding off of people’s worst fears and gaining power.
Tens of thousands of years before the present, he created a company- the Holy Nightmare Corporation. It was merely a front to fool people - his only desire was and is complete domination over all that existed in the universe. He created demon beasts- some relatively harmless, others capable of leveling civilizations. He started a war, his forces killing and enslaving countless peoples.
But a light appeared to combat the darkness when no one else would. They called themselves the Star Warriors. No one knows their true origins, but they have existed for millions of years- perhaps as long as Nightmare himself.
They formed the Galaxy Soldier Army, and any who wanted to fight for peace and freedom joined to help battle against Nightmare.
While they had great skill and bravery, they were horribly outnumbered by Nightmare’s armies and began to fall. In short time, the Galaxy Soldier Army was defeated, and nearly all of the Star Warrior were killed, save a few lucky souls scattered across the universe.
One of these was Sir Meta Knight; a well-known and powerful Star Warrior who had been fighting Nightmare for an unknown time. He had in his possession the sacred sword, Galaxia. Created tens of thousands of years ago by a race called the Photoron, Nightmare had stolen it for himself. But Meta Knight and a fellow Star Warrior Garlude had reclaimed it at the loss of Garlude’s life. In addition to having a soul of it’s own, the sword was one of the elements Nightmare required in his conquest of the universe. Only the strongest knights are able to wield Galaxia- others are harmed if they try to take it for themselves.
So as to not have his life and the sacrifice of his comrades go to waste, Meta Knight set off to find the new generation of Star Warriors. During his travels, Sword Knight and Blade Knight, two bandits whose lives he had saved, joined him.
Meanwhile, Popstar had yet to feel the effects of Nightmare’s evil. Dream Land was still peaceful- save for the antics of its dictator, King Dedede. One day, the town found itself under attack from an octopus-like monster eating its sheep. They contacted the wise statue Kabu for guidance and he told them of Holy Nightmare Co. and the legendary Star Warrior, Kirby.
Kirby wasn’t quite what everyone expected. He was only a baby, crash landing in Dreamland and unable to even speak their language. Kirby’s ship had detected the monster on Popstar and he had awoken too early- 200 years too early. Despite his lack of training and knowledge, Kirby showed amazing natural ability and was able to defeat the monster.
Kirby was befriended by the daughter of the Cabinet Minister, Fumu (Tiff) and her little brother Bun (Tuff.) However, King Dedede was jealous saw Kirby as a threat from the beginning, trying to convince everyone that Kirby wasn’t truly a hero and should be exiled. He has a ‘Demon Beast Download System’, that allows him to contact Holy Nightmare over the Internet and order demon beasts and other things from them. Dedede of course has no idea of what their true intentions are- he only wanted Kirby kicked out and HNM could help.
Of course there is more to Kirby’s past than most know. Only Sir Meta Knight seems to have any idea of Kirby’s origins, some of which he told Kabu. Every once in a while, a demon beast Nightmare creates doesn’t obey him. Kirby is one of those few- a failed creation of Nightmare who now is destined to be the only one who can defeat him. Meta Knight also has knowledge about Kirby’s abilities and powers, and even less is known about the knight’s own past.

Reason: picture (im hosting it :)) and some more info and story :)
Just a quick question, but how much of that show was edited by 4-Kids. I know they did a butcher job to One Piece when they had it and pretty much the same to Ultimate Muscle.
