Actually, that made me think. What if the reason is because it's part of law's plan with luffy and the others? In other words, there's some reason to not defeat Monet because she's still needed at some later stage?

Awesome chapter!

This fight with Monet has been my favorite battle of this arc. The entire arc has been full of chaotic running battles with different groups of people colliding into each other, but somehow Oda manages to continue upping the ante.

And Sanji's line about how Zoro was a conceited guy made me lol.

So now Monet has also acknowledged that she can't beat Zoro, and that's considering the fact that Zoro is clearly holding back a good deal. Tashigi's intervention should prove interesting. If anything, she should deal with Monet herself so as to redeem herself after her humiliating loss to Law.

Caribou's rescue was to be expected, of course. The G5 base really is filled with a bunch of incompetent weaklings. Luckily for the two brothers, it looks like Jimbei has long since departed from that area.

BTW, I forgot to mention earlier how highly amusing I found it that the chapter translators used "spunk" instead of "spank" for Robin's attack name. That.... would be mighty awkward if that were accurate.

Yeah, I brought up Jinbei in an earlier post, myself. If he's really nowhere nearby (and G5 doesn't have any more decently tough marines left), then I wonder what other obstacles will be left for the supernova bros? Actually, come to think of it, I wonder if those guys from Big Mom's crew may be close by? They might not be that far from G5 since they left shortly before the Straw-Hats did.....

They are watching PH events on TV like the rest of the brokers are unless something happened and they had to stop watching it.

^But my point is FROM WHERE EXACTLY are they watching Caesar's experiments from, though. Like, are they watching it from their ship hundreds of feet deep in the sea? Or from somewhere near PH? Or near the G5 base? THAT is what I'm wondering.

Still, not a good excuse. Zoro is quite familiar with Haki, and he should be, after training with a monster like Mihawk. And the most crucial defense against the logia users we had seen so far is haki, or more like haki enhanced skills, especially sword skills. Zoro should be capable of using such skills. It is not like he needs to destroy the surroundings to make it work. Hopefully we'll hear more about this in the next chapter.

Got done with my vote for Election Day. Time for my review.

-Cover Story: Coribou rescues his brother.

How he did it I guess we'll never know.

-As Mocha runs from the crazed children, her back story is revealed. Nami and company attempt to help her as well as protect the children from Monet and themselves.

Sounds like we got another candidate for new nakama member.

-Meanwhile, Zoro attempts to confront Monet, only for her to flee and attempt to attack Nami. Zoro intervenes, and while Nami listens to their brief discussion, she unleashes a Clima Tact attack, melting Monet's wings and seemingly Monet herself as well. As soon as Monet becomes a puddle on the floor, she unleashes a large snow attack that covers the entire room (she refuses to allow any of the Strawhats to help the kids since her duty is to protect Caesar as well as his experiments).

Monet's not very nice is she? Then again Zoro must have said something about Nami being weak that she attacked Monet, so that evens out.

-Taking on a new appearance (now with fangs), Monet materializes behind Nami and attempts to eat Chopper! Robin stops the new Monet with a gigantic hand attack that crushes Monet.

You sure Monet wasn't trying to eat Nami as well? At any rate Robin came to the rescue, that's good.

-Meanwhile, Zoro opens the snow covered door (so Nami and the others can go save the children). As Zoro and Monet begin to battle (Monet turning her wings into blades), Monet quickly releases that Zoro is not attacking her but is only using defensive moves. Whereas before she had no confidence in her ability to defeat Zoro, she now thinks she can defeat the swordsman.

I bet those are icicle blades. And this battle would have continued longer...

-But, their fight is interrupted by Sanji leading in the marines. As Zoro tells Sanji to go after the kids, Sanji instead orders the marines to start ridiculing and making fun of Zoro. They do with great delight until Monet takes on her monster form and bites one of the soldiers, taking his shoulder off. The marines retaliate, but their guns have no affect on the logia Monet.

Sanji, really. If you had taken Zoro's orders seriously, your escort mission would have been flawless.

-In retaliation for her wounded soldier, Tashigi attacks with a Haki slice, landing a slice on the logia-user. Telling her soldiers and the Strawhats to go on, she prepares to battle Monet one-on-one.

So now we have our female Marine Captain against the double agent femme fatale snowbird. Our heroes are almost in the home clear for this arc.

Haha. Monet getting all bashful when complimented reminds me of how Chopper reacts to compliments.

She is an interesting character. What exactly is she motivated by, and does she really have mental issues?

Monet looked pretty damn fine without her harpy legs.

As for why Zorro is holding back ... I have no idea. I'm pretty sure he can use the armament haki though. I mean that development can be traced back as far as alabasta. Plus a chapter or two ago, he literally said 'she's a logia, leave her to me', which would indicate that he can deal with this type of enemy now. The next chapter should explain what's going on.

Either on the Ship going to Cake Island, the other 2 Islands that been mentioned (Smoker picked up on the compass) Mystoria and Risky Red. One of them could of Big Moms territory.

Hasn't mentioned of there being an Island near G5 but near the marines is never a good idea.

All he was doing was blocking her attacks, not being offensive.

Wow, can't believe Caribou was actually rescued. I was expecting his brother to fail, or spontaneously explode looking at his track record~


The more and more we see Monett, the more I'm really enjoying her character.... alot of the characters in this arc just stick to me for some reason. Vergo with his tendance to forget things, not to mention the whole food on his face things... now Monett being embarassed by complimants... I'm lovin'' it~ <3

That was a okay chapter. I hope Zoro is not coming down with the Mihawk syndrome (the attitude of your not worth my time unless you peak my interest or you are a challenge). Sanji, Monet, and Zoro are pretty funny together. I never thought snow Logia could be lethal but monet did it. Tashigi getting to fight is cool for a change, but will the fight last? I won't be surprised if Baby 5 and Buffalo ruin the fight just when Monet is about to get beaten.

Actually, Tashigi isn't going to fight Monet on-one-on. It looks more like she's teaming up with Zoro.

More like, Zoro will only parry/block Monet's attack while Tashigi will be the one who actually try to strike Monet down. I really wonder the reason behind all these

i doubt it. zoro wouldn't have bothered to stop monet at all if he thought she wasn't worth fighting. zoro doesn't seem to care who he fights. if you're weak, then he'll just quickly get rid of you and move on. if you're strong enough to challenge him, then he'll enjoy fighting you, he'd just put more effort into it.

Uh why is Zoro not fighting? Was he told not to or is it his philosophy?

I imagine Zoro having all the types of haki but I wonder now. Perhaps the next crew member will be the first mate? Man thats tough to swallow.
