See i hate this crap Seo has a thing for destroying his characters for the hell of it. If Seo is only introducing Asuka (whom i actually like) as medium till Yuzuki returns thats crappy writing in my opinion. I was hoping to get some actual development between the 2 like dates and them spending time together. Actually the time between Kazama's death and the trip to Haruto's home they had grown close. Even their classmates commented on it so i guess thats one form of romantic development right there.

I just dont want to see her crushed like grape for the sake of Eba. Whom i know by now i will never like oh well such is the life of reading manga.

It's never that straight forward in RL nor is it uncommon for 2 people to get together out of nowhere and yea sure this ain't RL but doesn't mean it can't apply.
Even tho this is a work of fiction and having development is a point of it, I still think that touch of realism now and again is welcome.

Well I don't mind if Haruto and Asuka got together even it seems like it comes outta nowhere. It would hoesntly make things seem a little real on my part as when I was at school people were getting together and breaking up all the time.

I could tell from ch 105 that Nanami was as good as out...

As to the new developments. It is possible for a couple to date for a certain period of time and then decide together that the chemistry just isn't there anymore. Resulting in what I could call a good break-up and return things to the friendship level. That's better then seeing Asuka turned into yesterday's old news. Then again that's been the pattern we've seen so far...

Haruto hugs Asuka from behind when he tells her, which will be nice to see. As for romantic development, well, it's just sloppy story telling me, at least if Asuka is going to be a main girl. It'd be like reading an action manga where the author decided to just skip one of the most important and just say "Oh, the hero won." Plus, there's hope that Asuka will be the end girl (at least I'm keeping my fingers crossed), so I'd prefer the character to be more than just stomach cramps and a breast inferiority complex. Otherwise, she just becomes predictable fodder for Seo to stomp on the force the Eba ending.

For Asuka to become the end girl, this manga would have to go on for 300+ chapters to offset her late start. Well, I wouldn't really mind that (more pretty pictures), but I imagine that the plan Seo had for Kimi no Iru Machi was for a two-part manga, one arc for both the protagonists' towns, and we're already way into the second part.

for seo... this will probably match suzuka's length in chapters as he plans to add shitloads of girls towards haruto

well, I support AsukaxHaruto, but like many others have said, and I also agree, that we don't like to see Asuka get a heartbreak when Eba returns...after all, it will be a miracle if Asuka is the end girl...(not to mention that she is completely unrelated to the manga's title XD)

But a miracle can happen I guess, and damn Seo has put the plot into one way street, it's all or nothing for Asuka...go Asuka!!

He probably just needed Haruto to have a girlfriend in Tokyo for what is to come next. If he's pushing this then chances are Yuzuki will be right back in the picture when they get back to Tokyo.

Yup that's true. I don't think Nanami will be dumped with no more fight. Asuka is being taken out of Hiroshima before New Year's. I think that will lead to something between Haruto and Nanami. If Nanami is taken out now for good, then it's just paved for Yuzuki as soon as Haruto gets back to Tokyo

I agree with both your statements although im hoping Seo decides to break the mold and maybe go in another direction. Majority of the predictions about this manga from members are spot on.

Not throw away 2 characters but effectively bring them to a close give closer, right now there is none. I agree with Bonta Kun on the topic of "enough romantic development". Asuka and Haruto have had development it just took place between the funeral and now. Plus these new character just keep being introduced just to be crushed. What i mean by the break the mold is the formula that mangaka use to progress a story. To me it all depends of if Haruto's feelings for Eba have really changed. If he decides that his feelings have just diminished too much than why would the story end with her. He could easily say he wants to start fresh with Asuka while they go to Uni. There are multiple ways to do it but in the end we most likely going to get the generic ending. In a way i miss reading manga from the 80's they were a lot different.

But well, the audience response wasn't what he hoped for with token short haired girl Nanami, so he started a NEW love triangle in another city with short haired girl Asuka

but now we have two short haired girls, and one must thrown away

This is my latest prediction: if Seo doesn't achieve the audience response he wants with his Asuka plan, Haruto will run into another new character with short hair and Seo will then try to restart yet another arc from there

i agree with about the short hair fetish thing going on, and i have to say i'm disappointed more when i read your post, because if this "so he started a NEW love triangle in another city with short haired girl Asuka" which sadly made perfect sense, but it made me think of the consequences of making those changes...

nanami likely trashed

yuzuki has her character derailed (possibly) beyond hope

complete anger from most readers...

so like i said this sucks, and i think your right, and a hate how almost any girl seems to get bonus points for having sort hair (long hair fan) i mean look at how fast haruto seems to get over Yuzuki for asuka, and nanmai was leading at first until there was a slow yuzuki comeback...(and then derailment after said victory)

Seo be's a cruel, cruel man. I hope Nanami isn't gone for good. Hopefully something happens between her and Haruto while Asuka and Kiyomi are gone. It'll be New Years and it'll be just the Hiroshima gang. Hope Haruto lets Asuka down easy if he does indeed reject her.

You guys are pretty harsh on poor Seo lol. I think (hope, maybe?) he's still on track with this manga and knows where it's going, short-haired issues aside. Nothing entirely out of left field happened yet, although the Eba breakup came close.

I actually think the Yuzuki breakup was foreshadowed enough. There was the whole Shiho thing saying how her long distance relationship didn't work out, and the fact that Yuzuki was pushing Haruto away before she left, and that she didn't seem all too excited to see him in Tokyo.

And it's not poor Seo, it's poor us! He's putting us through all this pain lol. I'm sure he knows what he wants to do with it, but following it weekly is a drag on the heart, but i'm addicted so I could never stop. He built Asuka's character to be all cute and lovable and he's probably going to hurt her, but hopefully not in too bad a way. He spent 5 chapters (71-76) building up Nanami's character by giving those adorable chapters from her perspective and winning her a lot of fans (myself included) just to have Haruto skip town on her after Yuzuki...that was really cruel of him.

He is a twisted little man. I love him, but I hate him too. Lol. It's a love/hate relationship. I definitely think he'll pull out a fine story with a great ending (if you liked Suzuka's ending), but it's just a lot of heartbreak along the way. Kind of like how Suzuka was for me, but I absolutely love it. I read it when it was completed though, so I could breeze through it instead of having to put up with the heartache weekly.
