Another great episode. The plot just keeps thickening and it's great seeing what will happen next.

I was immediately reminded of your post when the sweeper showed up behind Jin

What made you think the bartender was the sweeper by the way? You seemed pretty confident about it.

Yeah, that was an odd development given that they've only known each other for a few days. They haven't even had much interaction on screen. I assume the anime's pace is to blame once again.

So, about that preview:

Spoiler:

I do like the series, but I still don't get how they couldn't pull off a 26 episode order for a popular Jump series. I lot of things would work a whole lot better if they had some time. Even the rushed romance didn't feel super flat, just way too fast.

That shape shifting players were pretty interesting.
Looks like that pendant is really important and gone for now.
Without it, Jin can't get his complete form.
And here it is finally, the attempt to make Jin switch sides.
Jin & Tanaka, who knew they'd become an item, nice bonus.

No actually, it was pretty much the same in the manga. Jin just decided to be with her out of nowhere.

Well it just seemed odd to me that the Bartender is the leader of the Evol and commands so much fear and respect and figured that anyone in such a position must be really powerful. But the Bartender was not very intimidating so I figured must really be powerful.

And there was The Sweeper prancing around kicking ass and being absurdly powerful whilst wearing a costume that hides his face and figured his identity would have to be important...

So I just put those two together and thought "OMG Sweeper = Bartender, herp derp"...

I was so confident I didn't even bother checking their voices like I normally do. XP

Did they skip some important chapters or something? Because it feels like the 'blossoming' relationship between Jin and Hanako(?) is a little too quick and sudden. Quite surprised a person with his traits would have that kind of soft side to him also.

They are putting ~12 chapters for each episode. "Skip" isn't right word here

About right. They spent less than week together, but that was more than enough for Jin.

Jin always had friends and family, but Tanako represented something else new in his world (love, sex etc...).

Too bad the anime is fast paced.

At some level, I think you can make the argument that she was probably the only person insane enough to stick around. If she's willing to accept near certain death to stick around, I think the logical take is you aren't getting rid of her.

But she could have used some more characterization.

True enough for the anime itself, but Hanako had plenty of chapters dedicated to her in the manga.

She loves Jin, it seem short, but we can blame it on the pacing of the anime. Currently she still does not know about Jin being a monster in the anime (#9). I believe she finds out way later in the manga (currently #178 is new release).

The thing is, she doesn't really know about who Jin really is in the anime, and such isn't really aware how dangerous it is sticking around him all the time.

By the way, the thing with Jin suddenly deciding to try and start a family with Hanako... Well, from how I see it (others might have a different interpretation based on both the anime and the source) on some level Jin was always wanted to be "in" a family, as it's something that validates his humanity.

Yes, that is a huge plus on her side, she sticks around.
Compare to most people who just hangs in the periphery around Jin, Hanaka is among the few who approached Jin in an intimate distance.
Trying to avoid manga spoiler here, but she also tried to improve herself so she can be worthy to stay with him. You don't see many people doing something about themselves just for Jin.

You'll be impressed when you get to #189. My sympathy for her keeps on climbing.
And I am just having a sign of relief on how things have resolved on #197

actually i am impress that Kouga was figthing one of the clones by himself without his suit, that should already make him physically superhuman

yeah feel like the development between Jin and Hanako is a bit too fast

Spoiler for 10:
I wonder if they will animate THAT scene next episode. Has it been confirmed how many episodes this will have?
It's going to be seriously rushed if they try to end it in the next 2-3 episodes.
