Well I don't know if it's romantic, it's probably isn't but try stopping people from thinking that

it probably character interactions , nothing romantic that my take on it( Well to aru's series isn't known for romance Example Touma gets involved/drag into magic, science conflict or a combination of both doesn't like to get Index/Mikoto etc to be involved .... But sooner or later involved too .... ( Well it dosen't change the fact that a girl/english nun with 103,000 gimore on her head and Middle school girl at can generate billion of volts of electricity )
