Avalon is not a fleet, it's a space colony. The others are just space stations and spaceships. As the word suggests "drifters" or "wandering tribes" are constantly moving in spaceships, but that's different from Avalon.


Of course spaceships and space stations that are self-sufficient and big enough can work effectively as colonies if you want, but I think there is a difference between them and what Avalon represents.

For example, when you consider that, it doesn't become that strange that Ledo doesn't have citizen's right since he never lived in a "city".
That's more or less the difference from living in an academy and living in a house. There are houses on Avalon (and probably other typical elements of normal civilizations like restaurant, stores, entertainment and so on), but not in any other structure of the alliance.

Haven't seen Bioshock, but it is somewhat like Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now.

I don't think that's Lukkage. The new pirate (?) lady's design is different...though I suppose it's possible for Lukkage to completely switch her fashion sense in the span of 3 years.

At the time Lukkage would be 16 years old. Bellows would be 15.

I suspected that Lukkage and Bellows are acquainted due to their close ages. And it seems Lukkage knows Fairlock.

Now it makes sense while Lukkage wants Bellows to join her she doesn't not want her harmed.

The pirate in ep one is probably thinking the boss didn't mention they can't touch Bellows crew.

You might be right. Her crew call her Laurette (ローレット). It could be her former name, but I guess it's more likely she's a new character who happens to share her interest in hot slave girls.

I might be wrong but from what I understood Laurette doesn't want to make Bellows her slave and it was just a whole misunderstanding from Bellows' part.

Laurette is basically the woman that taught Bellows everything about salvaging.

So it doesn't make sense for her to be Rackage.

Amy and Ledo are seen walking around together on page one so it can't be a 3 year prequel either this story takes place during or after the anime.

Er... no that's Bellows in the present remembering the past, where the past is the actual story narrated in this manga. Basically Bellows sees Ledo looking for a job and Bellows thinks that he is just like she was in the past.

On page 5 it says clearly "3 years earlier".
