I like the pop-up style as well.

Oh, and another thing: I find it amusing that the concept art makes Naegi look somewhat more fierce than he actually tends to look in the game.

Personally, I think it would be cool if the anime kept the pop-up book style of the games, but that's just me.
Me too, but I'm afraid that they can simplify the art-style to attract more viewers.

I'm still more interested in seeing how the anime will handle the trial scenes, though...
Anything is better than PW Live-action.

Lol...and all the characters are 2D cardboard figures that spin around when interacted with

According to showgate this will be 13 episodes. I haven't played the game but that sounds really bad

dude, the one in PW live action is brilliant. You can't have enough throwing screens at opponent.

It's to be expected actually. That the game even got an anime is quite stunning in of itself.

It's also possible to contain the main bits in 13 eps so...

Yeah, 13 episodes sounds about right, actually. I mean, if you don't count the prologue (which can easily cover a single episode), the game has 6 chapters altogether. Those can easily be split up into about 2-3 episodes each without the need to stretch things out with pointless filler. Looks like a smart decision to me.

So it should be fine? Thats a relief since it looked really interesting and it being rushed would be very disappointing .

Just in case you all forgot about freetime/social link event too.

Importantly, where is the source of "13 episode" come from?

Well....It's quite impossible to animate walking around and doing all those interactions anyway...But for trial and finding of culprit + basic rundown of events, should be ok

I just realize:

Ok this is way too early for things like this showing up, plus the fact there have been no other confirmed sources this is most likely just a placeholder which happens a lot with most anime until confirmed at a later date because they haven’t been given an episode number yet so they just list it as 13 episodes its the same with DS2 anime which is also on the list
There’s also the chance that it will be split cour between two seasons such as like Fate/Zero I honestly wouldn’t worry about it too much at the moment.

Sure, if we wanna see countless filler scenes of Naegi spending countless hours in front of the mono machines buying random doodads, why not?

Thing Is though showgate isn't a place like ANN. Their a....I'm not sure what they are but they own the international rights to dangan ronpa and are part of the production commite for it and episode counts are always decided at the planning process before an anime is announced (half the time companies just choose not to announce them). So it's highly unlikely it's just a place holder. Don't think it's split cour either.

I still find it kinda weird to see the characters are actually animated, since they're barely animated at all in the games.
