In general I'd be the first to say that Akane's not being able to Wakaba's attacks, but there's too little information said beforehand to make a reasonable assumption. In this case, since the show itself knows it's stretching credibility at maximum, I'll go with its lack of explanation.

Lately whenever I question this show, I end up doing exactly what that grandpa did when asked about his body.

The pace was definitely too fast this week. I didn't think we'd get to see Vivid Green already. I take it Akane will be the only one able to dock with other girls, given that she is the main "operator". I'm bothered she managed to fuse with Wakaba, a girl she barely knows, so easily. Furthermore, you shouldn't dock on the first date! That's only common sense! If I were Aoi, I'd be jealous, but she is probably a better person than I am.

I agree Akane being able to match Wakaba in kendo was complete bullshit, but I think it's better not to think too much. It's the kind of series that is better enjoyed if you turn your brain off. It's pure popcorn entertainment. As long as it doesn't cross over to absolutely retarded territory, I'm fine with it.

I'd like to know the limitations of the system. So far, it seems like Akane can just hand over keys to anybody she wants. What's stopping her from making an army of yuri warriors? Are there actually a limited number of keys (in which case, she should probably choose her partners more carefully...)?

I really don't get the observation that the pacing of this episode is "too fast". Maybe it's just me, but after having been exposed to hell and back with traditional Super Robot series, Sentai and Mahou Shoujo (all three which VRO definitely takes to), the brisk pace is actually on par with those.

At this pace, we're set for 4 Vivid girls, 4 dockings in 4 episodes. This is a 12 episode series. The recent super robot series I enjoyed was OG Inspector at 24/26 episodes.

It's just something to think about. The transformations seem to have less frames animated as each new transformation comes, for example Akane's transformation is the only one to be fully animated during the sequence when she's in her underwear only, the other two girls remained static. I just hope they don't blow the budget on the first 4 eps only

Most old-school Super Robots have 50 episodes at least, and yet they still maintain such a brisk pace per episode. They only slow down a bit at least around the 10th episode or so, then introduce the mid-season upgrade at the halfway mark.

After rewatching the new episode, I have the feeling that some dialogues doesn't make sense at all, and Wakaba gain the Vivid System powers without having any experience at all (remember her pre-docking talk with Akane). Her story seemed a bit rushed, but looks fascinating. Unfortunately, the show's flaws keep rising in every episode, and even if they failed to try fixing the problems, I will probably get used to them. No matter how short the transformations takes time, they still look fantastic and once they complete every docking transformations, I'll decide which one looks the best.

Heroes/Heroines having the ability to instantly use their powers without prior knowledge/training is such a common trope that goes by unnoticed a lot of times that I keep wondering why people notice it in this one.

I just think that Akane's just one of those super-athletic main characters. I mean Akane has the ability to properly aim a newspaper right into a mail slot from several meters away through the open windows of a moving car while moving herself, and that was from way back when she and Aoi met.
