Sengoku (Past) The Final - Won the Battle, But the War Goes On...
Though superficially similar to Sengoku Otome, that show and Nobuna established their own identities pretty clearly early on. I find that Otome is more fun, but Nobuna is overall more theatrical. The camera angles and the composition of the pictures especially contribute to this, and nowhere did that shine more than in Nobuna's battle with Konoe. The final shot of a hawk sweeping through the clouds was also pretty grand. Of course those two were still alive, and the reunion they bought with them was quite heartwarming. Honnoji still hasn't happened yet, so I can't see Mitsuhide's relationship with Yoshiharu being all friendly forever, but he's already changed history once. Maybe he can change it when it gets to that point, too. Of the currently airing Sengoku shows, Collection is probably my favorite, simply because it caters to my tastes more, but Nobuna was really well done. The history was clearly well-researched, and the cast put in a performance that was equal parts cute and cool. Kanae Itou as Tsundere!Nobunaga in particular, even if she did channel a bit of Sena in the role. My favorite characters was probably Bontenmaru. Soft spot for overblown heroics and all. The final shot definitely teased us for a second season. Should one be delivered, I won't mind. There's plenty more history to draw on, and more chances for us to see the Oda group (and Yoshiharu) in action. |

You know it is kind of sad that many dropped this anime before it even aired, many people in the first page of the forum thought it was a cliche harem anime base on the Sengoku era like many others with no story and just left it at that.

Amazing finale! What was great was that Nobuna and her Generals beat the Big Bad all by themselves without the help of Yoshisaru or Jubei.
Love the teaser at the end of the episode with the appearance of Takeda Shingen(which also means Uesugi Kenshin) hinting a 2nd season. One of the best Gender Bender Sengoku era anime i watched. 10 out of 10!

That's it, Oda Nobuna no Yabou ended and left that feeling of satisfaction and hopes for a second season. It's this what makes a anime great, you finish the first season already hoping for a second one. And the appearance of Takeda Shingen pretty much tells us that we'll be seeing more of this series in the future.

A great ending for a great anime. And seeing Takeda Shingen at the end, may hint another season.

I'm glad Nobuna managed to find herself without Saru having to come in to rescue her or anything because she was really starting to look like a Faux Action girl what with all her good traits almost always being informed. But overall I really would've liked Nobuna to have shown her skills more often in the previous episodes instead of relying on everyone else to save the day all the time. I guess that's hard to do when you have such a large cast and so few episodes to work with but whole being inspired by Nobuna thing had a tendancy to fall on it's face as a result. Even the so few episodes that did showcase her skills didn't do much for me so I was never impressed with her the same way all the other characters were and that's a problematic dissonance considering most of the story rested on that factor.
I'm not really sure how to rate this anime given that I had a rather unique reason for enjoying this anime and probably would've thought it sucked if it wasn't there. I guess I should probably just not bother. Ultimately I did enjoy it even if it was in a guilty pleasure sort of way, but I guess that's all that matters.

Good ending. I'm happy for the way they ended it and also they hinted for a possible another season and I just notice for the series that ended up lately. They sure are giving hints for another possible season. I wish those hints will turn out to be true. Kinda disappointing to give false hints and hopes.

best anime this season hands down
hopefully we see a another season soon since they hinted at it can't wait The only thing I am mad about is they didnt do the katsuie promised but they did the Mitsuhide naked part of her warmup sagara they could have done the katsuie promised that would have been so funny. Maybe they might show the promise in a ova or next season Overall, best anime this season some people really underrated this show |
