Romance Anime from 2012-2013

I've been away from the anime scene for the past 2 years so I've missed a lot of shows.

I recently started Golden Time and White Album 2 and I'm enjoying them. Anything ranging from romantic comedy to dramafest is fine.

Caveats:
-Decisive ending where the guy picks a girl.
-No fantasy genre.

Any other parameters? Like super gooey romance or reserved, dignified types? Or drama that makes you want to grit your teeth in frustration or quiet, flowing thought-provoking material?

Well, I'll start out by recommending the Kimi ni Todoke series, Sukitte ii nayo and Mashiro-iro Symphony for romance. For a little weirdness try Nazo no Kanojo X.

Might like Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, Ano Natsu no Matteru and Sakamichi no Apollon are pretty good drama.

If you want to throw fits Hanasku Iroha is drama incarnate - series had many good things and many horrible things as well - at least for me. But it DID have drama. I'll say that for it. For me a similar category, though better, is Natsuyuki Rendezvous.

A few others you might consider for drama would be Mawaru Penguindrum and Shinseki Yori. They are more "mature" in some ways, perhaps even "sophisticated", though in ways different from the other.

Comedic romances - Inu x Boku SS was a personal fave.

I'll suggest Kamisama Hajimemashita.

I pretty much like the entire gamut of romance. It can be serious or lighthearted. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look at some of those.

If fantasy is out then Inu x Boku SS, Shinseki Yori and Mawaru Penguindrum should also be stricken off my suggestions. ^^

Kokoro Connect. It's got some elements of fantasy in it, but it is mostly used as a plot device to advance the dramatic and romantic aspects of the story instead of defining the setting.

Kimi no Iru Machi - A Town Where You Rage.

Servant x Service is a romance anime but focuses more on humour.

Photo Kano and Amagami SS use an omnibus format where the route of each of the main girls is explored in short 2-4 episode arcs.

Oh god, I just read the latest chapter of Kimi no Iru Machi. Didn't take me long to start raging again.

Amagami SS was around back in my day.

I'll check out the other two though. Thanks.

Shin Sekai Yori is more science fiction than fantasy though. Though some might consider that fact alone as a spoiler.

Kimi no Iru Machi - A Town Where You Rage.
I can vouch for Kokoro Connect. It is based in modern day with four average high schoolers. The fantasy is just a small part of it, it's more of strengthening bonds between them.

Kimi no Iru Machi is really good, if you want drama and an interesting but rage worthy ending. Actually the whole anime is rage worthy, depending on who you ask. To me it was sweet and empowering, since I'm in a similar situation.

Hope you get back to us on how you like your series so far!

I liked Kokoro Connect and Photo Kano. Photo Kano was pretty much what I wanted. Kokoro Connect was great though with enough romance for me.

I've already seen Kimi no Rage Machi.

Servant x Service was indeed funny but admittedly not the romance I was looking for.

Downloading Kotonoha no Niwa.

The other suggestions I didn't look into for various reasons.

Oh! A anime that has been underrated and mistooken for is The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat. (Not in any way sexual or ecchi, just a really sweet anime that might not get a second season because of the title :/) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_%22..._the_Stony_Cat. It has to be my favorite of the year.

Please give it a look, I'm begging you
