Well I don't always rewatch them, but yeah pretty much. It's just a beautifully constructed one is all, especially with the bach music and the creepy menu gets to you.

It kind of baffles me on how this series of all of them has no subforum and only 4 pages of posts. (Increasing posts per page FTW)

This anime came out over a decade ago. The forum, especially considering post-hacked animesuki wasn't around when most of the discussions first had their fire.

Indeed. And Rebuild isn't that long and released far apart that you won't get that much discussion. If Eva was first aired when this place was around, there'd be a sub forum for the second episode.

Ah, yea. But let's see if those next 2 rebuild movies will be interesting enough to generate more discussion ^^. I know a Eva image thread would be overloading with posts already.

Yeah, they are releasing two at the same time (why, I will never understand). An Image thread would be very popular indeed.

Huh...I thought it was Shinji "testing" reality to make sure he was back in the REAL WORLD, and not just another aspect of Instrumentality (in other words, during Instrumentality, when he started strangling Asuka, she uncharacteristically went limp and simply took it. If the same had happened during the final scene, then Shinji would know that there were still a few veils to pierce before he was truly back to the world he had left).

Basically the same thing. Shinji wanted to feel the pain that supposedly instrumentality would erase to confirm that he wasn't in instrumentality.

I don't think it's the same at all...I don't see any rage in Shinji at the end...just exhaustion...and a desire to see the real world again.

It's a victory of sorts.

Because each one is meant to be only 45-minutes long. Think of it like EoE...yes, EoE is two separate "episodes," but it's basically a single movie. Deat and Rebirth is the same. And that's how they've planned Q and FINAL.

So when is the next movie in the reworked series scheduled to come out... and is there a better thread to ask the question in? Given the history of the franchise, I have to agree that I'm surprised there isn't a subforum for this one. But then I'd probably add one for Cowboy Bebop while I was at it too.

No official release date available at this time. But yes, there is a thread dedicated to Rebuild specifically if you check a page or 2 back in the older series list.

Considering the massive popularity of Rei, and the fact that many later shows have copied her character archtype, it's kinda funny looking back at the fact that Rei herself was a clone, and not to mention that infamous Rei Aquarium scene.

"And many years from now, you will be cloned in every anime possible!"

I enjoyed both of the final episodes myself, and think it's incredibly silly that some sponsors stopped supporting Evangelion during the later stages. The last few minutes of episode 26 with Shinji overcoming his insecurities (And the music swelling in sync along with his resolution) was one of the most inspiring things I've seen in television, I watched it about 30 times in a row the first time I finished Eva.

The ending is probably one of the more interesting group therapy sessions.
