That's the nobles, and they didn't even get all of them. There are even still heirs to the throne running around...

Rome doesn't matter that much. We've got our homegrown bigots.

The point is, we've got our conservatives. A lot of them. And homosexuals don't really figure in their world view.

I uploaded a video from an attack on Tel Aviv. I was almost in the area of this one, if we hadn't decided to go a different way.

Vendetta masks in UAE colours draw warning

Quote:
Dubai: Police officials in Dubai have warned against wearing a mask that symbolises opposition to state authority during any celebrations connected to National Day and declared it illegal.
Any person found wearing Guy Fawkes masks, also known as ‘Vendetta masks’, risks police questioning as any object or action deemed to be instigating unrest or insulting the UAE is illegal, police officials said.

^Quick, someone bring out the horse masks instead.

Seriously, wouldn't people just switch to some other mask/head covering instead? As if banning a certain kind of mask would cause protesters to magically disappear.

I uploaded a video interviewing two random Israelis as to how life in Israel is like during times like this

(I may do this again, it was kind of fun. Let me know if you want any specific questions asked for a next time :-)

Also, just a general update, I have yet to hear any booms today. Last booms were heard yesterday evening.

In addition, I'm near the airport and have thus been observing the air traffic. They have changed air traffic direction to takeoff/land to/from the north.
Looked it up on the news:

Swedish School’s Big Lesson Begins With Dropping Personal Pronouns

Quote:
STOCKHOLM — At an ocher-color preschool along a lane in Stockholm’s Old Town, the teachers avoid the pronouns “him” and “her,” instead calling their 115 toddlers simply “friends.” Masculine and feminine references are taboo, often replaced by the pronoun “hen,” an artificial and genderless word that most Swedes avoid but is popular in some gay and feminist circles.

In the little library, with its throw pillows where children sit to be read to, there are few classic fairy tales, like “Cinderella” or “Snow White,” with their heavy male and female stereotypes, but there are many stories that deal with single parents, adopted children or same-sex couples.

The "hen" debate is both hilarious and somewhat interesting at the same time here in Swe. It's extremely divided within the population and it's much bigger in the "capitals" where the more "politically correct people" lives. In many people's views it's silly, as they don't believe using "him" or "her" has any negative impact, as opposed to "hen" that will serve to confuse the children. My own view aligns with them and I also believe action speaks more, which the schools mentioned somewhat do anyway, than switching to a god damn word.

Then again, it's a typical Swedish thing.

It's a way of life around here. Just like how schools around the world have fire drills, schools and towns have rocket drills a few times a year. I have a few vids on my chan.
