What is all this about kiddy and mature games? If a game is good, you play it.

Graphics is only a very minor part of our debate. We're talking more about content--
Ditto. At the moment, we can only presume that all those new consoles will have good games, so by looking at what the companies behind them have done in the recent years, we may get a hint of what will come. I'm just saying that, in the case of Nintendo, we will be getting more games a lá "Super Mario Sunshine."

I loved cel-shading in the Windwaker, by the way, since it reminded me of the style they used in the best Zelda game they have ever made: Link to the Past. Unfortunately, the characters were that teletubby -stuff. Because of this, I doubt Wii will be that good option if they do not grab themselves from the neck and start publishing more games aimed for grown-ups. If this doesn't happen, it's a choise between two devils: Micro$oft and $ony. Or just sticking to your PS2, perhaps the best option of them all.

I was playing games such as Final Fantasy 7 and Suikoden at the age of 8, and enjoyed them fully. Teletubbies? Toy Story? To hell with that.
I was also playing games such as Resident Evil.

Your whole idea about complex controls and long combinations of button mashing makes no sense at all. Simple controls are better, since you don't have to spend hours just to learn a new move.

One thing I do agree with, however, is that the story makes a big part of the game. The gameplay is also *VERY* important, though. More than the story, actually.

Well....color you precocious, but this is NOT the standard. You need only walk into a gamestop to see little kids frothing at the mouth over the latest stinking pile of crap.

I'm not talking about fighting games- where memorizing button combinations is the bread and butter of gameplay...I've never cared too much about this genre beyond casual play.

There is no other "kind" of complex controls.

It appears by the look of it that the game would be easy and kid-friendly, but it's not. It has these happy little people being all happy and sugary sweet, then when you turn your back, it hits you with a baseball bat. IT'S A TARP.

Yes, screw new consoles.
Instead, I'm gonna wear a giant round TV on my head.

LOLOLZ

"kid, pacing outside isn't going to make the wii cum any faster"

South park loves Nintendo Wii!!

Then again, it likes the PSP (and look where it is now) but then it likes World of Warcraft.

So, it might not be half bad.

so- what? You don't care?!!!

WELL SCREW YOU ALL, I'M GOING FOR A WII!

I do not know what you guys thing, but hearing that RR7 needs 5GB HDD space
to cache data, seems kind of dull (standard ps3 has 20GB hdd).
Honestly with highend chips in the PS3,
sony could at least put in decent higher disc drive,
to allow the silicon to work at full speed.
At the moment the drive is a bottleneck, for HD game performance imo.
I honestly hope it won't end like the ps2 with those long loading times,
to create impressive/decent graphics.

But at least the Hdd is officially supported is time arround.

Btw Xbox 360 Core System Sale Commemoration Pack (JPN) priced at ~$299/£159
looks like a steal ^^

Sony isnt exactly known for it's fast loading times, unlike nintendo.

I got a feeling you will have to wait for ages for the boot up, then the game, and when it oes hope the optical lens on your blu-ray doesn't die, in two weeks...

It look shiny, but it won't help if it breaks so easily...

Wii has really disappointed me with its kiddie easy games. PS3 is probably my next choice to buy, when they have more RPGs, my fav category. As for XBOX, that is for action lovers, not me.

The new gen consoles no longer try to attract all types of players. Nintendo aims at casuals and kids, Sony at strategy and rpg fans and Microsoft for PC and action fans. And SEGA still crying over how much better its consoles were in the commercials, lol.
