And Maeda's black mailing really sickens me. The first black mail was semi-understandable, since he felt obliged to bail his sister out. However, the Homework blackmail is the point that the protagonist looses whatever shred of credibility he has left in my view. Plus, I suspect that the President simply shoddily did the translations, without bothering with carefully maintaining proper grammar or spelling, or indeed, sentence structure. In other words, I suspect that Maeda's homework looks like it's machine translated, which might get him into serious trouble. |

It's not blackmail if she enjoys it.
Also you people take this show way too seriously, It's a romantic comedy based on a dating sim where you take various photos of girls. Heck I'm surprised he's not liked very much here where other places call him an alpha or one of the best MCs of the season

Maybe I'm one of the rare breed on this board that doesn't mind this anime XD
Sure, it's because I'm already accustomed with the characters and the plots from the game since on the game the player (including me) is filling Kazuya's shoes, so all white-knight hentai and this blackmailing stuffs don't really crossed my mind since the dialogues and relationship with the girls are what I'm focusing on. And I never been a guy who over think or analyze tv shows, including anime, too deeply and compare it how it will play out in real life, so maybe that's another reason Quote:

Can't say she enjoys it but at the very least she doesn't really mind with it. Her expression does shows that she likes it when Kazuya asks her to do his homework, but then again they made what I feel a fail facial expression when Mai first doubts Kazuya, where she looks more like a pervert, unlike the second one which much better. And at least Kazuya doesn't force her to do stuff like this >XD Whoa. Granted Animesuki is the only anime board I actively joined, but some other boards I happened to pass through, the majority is still hates Kazuya

I'd find Maeda alpha if he just stuck to getting what he wants from people with no tricks, no lies, no frills, and no blackmail. Alpha guys keep it simple: just ask, snap away and go from there. When he's like that you have an alpha guy. But the sideways, dishonest snake style screams "beta male." An alpha guy has girls following his will simply because it is his will and they wish to comply. A beta guy has to couple something else into the package to get compliance (add threats, blackmail, whatever else in to get your will done).

Episode 4
Yet more horridness from our hero. And aside from all the standard creeper elements, this episode features all sorts of scenes that are just plopped there, with no rhyme and no reason. Two examples of this are the teacher who gets lost, and that girl sitting out on the stairs. Are these scenes interesting? Do they serve any purpose? I'd guess that they exist because they were in the game. But in the show, they prove precisely zilch entertainment value - it all feels very amateurishly done. And for an anime that's ostensibly about photography, Photokano has featured some really bad pictures - poor poses, poor lighting, and poor composition are all rampant. Did the creators actually research photography before making this show?

They can't seem to decide if Kazuya is meant to be a nice guy or a pervert/creep. If they're trying to make him seem like a mix, they're not doing a good job. You can have male leads be both and still come off as likeable and someone to root for, like Junichi in Amagami SS or Yoto in Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko and so on. They make Kazuya too Jekyll and Hyde-ish when it comes to how he is; one second, he's the nice guy then suddenly, he's the pervert and/or creep, then back to being a (hypocritical) nice guy.
And they still try to push it off as Kazuya actually being drawn into "photography". They should change it to be focused on Sanehara. At least she actually takes it seriously and such. Besides Uchida (w00t), Kazuya getting a taste of his own medicine with Mai and the magazines was a good side of the episode too.

I'll echo everyone else's sentiments that this show does a horrible job in showing what exactly our MC is – a pervert or a guy genuinely interested in photography. While he shows signs of respecting some of the girls, him continuing to blackmail the SC president to get whatever he wants is just too low for me.
I hope he changes his tune now that Mia has dirty laundry of him, else I can't see it end well for him. If he wants to win the girls' respect, he'll have to earn it, not cheat his way through.

It looks like they might switch to omnibus next week? That would make the first four episodes the introduction, similar to Yosuga no Sora. No matter what they do, I'm hoping they'll change the current formula because it's not working.
The MC seems like scum to me. It's totally okay for him to take erotic pictures of girls (glimpse of cleavage = shutter chance!! That sums up his interest in photography so far), but god forbid his fellow club members do the same. And I can't believe he's still blackmailing Muroto. This time he had her do his homework so that he could have more time to spend fapping to his pictures. That's very very low.

They cut some important dialogues, mostly on Momoko's part maybe because they're not going to adapt her route. Spoiler for comparison from the game:

And for the Jekyll and Hyde thing, isn't it more or less the same with Junichi too? I mean wasn't he acts different toward each girl on their own story? He can becomes pushy to get Haruka's attention, an M towards Tsukasa, playful with Kaoru, filming Sae's with different animal costume, and so on. Different girl different approach. I think the premise of Aki story and Tsukasa story are basically the same. Both girls are top, honor student at the school, but one thing led to another, the protagonist find the other side of the girls, they get closer despite what happen next, and later fallen in love. It just on Kazuya case, he's playing the S role Quote:
Personally, I think option number 1 is the best. Although I want to see every girls gets their end, but I don't think only 1 episode is enough to cover their each remaining story. I mean Rina as the main girl had less screen time compared to Kanon whom only a sub-character Quote:
I agree the anime adapted the scene very badly. The preceding scene with Kazuya talking to his friend saying he wants to do everything he can with photography before the exhibit, and immediately followed by blackmailed Aki, it comes veeery bad. But for what it's worth, the original scene isn't like that. In the game he just remember he forgot to do his homework so he rushed to Aki to ask her do it for her. He said his magic word, yes, but Aki only do the half of it, the rest of it is done by Kazuya with Aki's helping the part he doesn't understand. They omit the most important part on the anime, making it looks like Kazuya purposely didn't do his homework so he could make Aki does it instead Kazuya isn't dilligent sure, but he's not the type of the student who purposely didn't do his homework on home and then just copy his friend's, at least on the episode 1 we could see that he is doing his summer holiday's homework by himself, albeit at the last minute XDD

I can’t really explain why, but the MC feels really lame to me. Aside from being absolutely plain, not bright, newfound-blackmailing tendency, and girls throw themselves at him for practically nothing, him being a hypocrite doesn’t help things:
Maeda: “I will protect the girls from being objects of lewd photos!” Maeda (seeing one of big-boobed girls carrying balls): “Holy shit! Nice boobs! Must-take-pictures!!”

In at least the anime version, if you give him a name and make him a character, then it should be expected that they'd have their own (good) personality and development to make us like and root for him. Here, Kazuya is missing most of both. From the way things are going, it doesn't seem like he's really gonna "develop" like Junichi did (and uniquely based on the situations he had with each girl no less) and, as said, his very character is hard to like or root for...
