3 Specific Kinds of Anime
I'm looking for 3 specific kinds of anime below:
1) That the main character has competitions with other characters and continuously faces stronger and stronger opponents but keeps winning anyway. (Something like Saki, for example.) 2) That the main character has defensive abilities (as in battles or magic battles) so strong that pretty much no one can touches him/her. (I can't think of one. Kaze no Stigma??) 3) That the anime itself keeps breaking the 4th wall like nobody's business. (Such as Moetan.) Thanks. Any suggestions are highly appreciated. |

Wow thanks. I'll slowly check out all that are suggested here.
More please. By the way, the breaking 4th wall thingy... If possible I want the anime to do that at least to a degree equal to or more than what is done in Moetan, because in Moetan it's really...... yeah... the 4th wall almost doesn't exist. Quote:
It would be a bit too difficult for all 3 to appear together in one anime I suppose. |

Have you watched Seitokai no Ichizon? That might fit the bill. The first scene is basically the characters trying to decide what the show should be about, and the rest of the show is dedicated to parodying everything. Also, except for Kurimu, all of the characters have some sort of otaku-like interest.

Thanks.
I'd come across Seitokai no Ichizon before, and I'd watched quite a bit, jumped here and there. But even though the jokes are nice and the 4th-wall-breaking isn't bad too, I don't like the character of the... characters. Gintama is a no-no for me. The primary reason is its number of episodes (and my lack of interest in historical elements). By the way, Hikaru no Go and Shion no Ou are totally great. I feel they would remind me of Saki when I watch them. |

1) What you're looking for is pretty much this trope:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...lgorithmOfEvil 2) When you say untouchable do you mean a character who almost never gets hit at all or a character who does get hit but is so tough that s/he is unfazed by it? Alucard from Hellsing and Dante from Devil May Cry fit the latter and also have regenerative powers making them close to invincible. |

Magical Lyrical Nanoha - The heroine of this series starts off as your average citizen, but becomes extremely powerful later on. Seconding Hikaru no Go - Main Character starts out like your average person, then becomes great. Quote:

Thanks all of you.
Something as classic as Dragon Ball (Z) is something I'm all too familiar with. I even have the entire collection of its episodes. So yeah I already have it. I finished watching Nanoha as well. All 3 seasons. To Aru Majutsu no Index...... I watched it, but I didn't like the male lead. For other suggested series, SOME of them are of themes that I don't like, so I won't be taking them. But still thanks. |

As for (2)
Balsa in Moribito (yet she's never portrayed as "superhuman" in any way, just very skilled) The Apothecary in Bakeneko/Mononoke Guin in Guin Saga Kurasu in Noein Nijuu Mensou in Nijuu Mensou no Musume Do immortals count? Then Spoiler for immortality:
