This is so charming in it's own screwball comedy way. I'm really liking Muromi-san and Takkun's relationship.

It seems like it's more screwball comedy than rom-com like Nyaruko. Though it wins for a freaking awesome OP.

For those that haven't watched it, the OP is standard, cutesy J-pop. Until it breaks out into Metal at several points. It's like the inverse of Nightwish there for a bit. It's awesome.

Edit: The OP gets better. It's Dekomori from Chunnibyou singing it. You've really got to watch it.

OP Song but with PV video

That was surprisingly funny with all the jokes even though i don't particulary like the chara design.
But this anime remind me of Seto no Hayanome in a way , which is good ^^

Damn, this show looks so vibrant. The first episode was really nice. It's not some technically mind-blowing animation, but it's really expressive and funny. The comedy was thoroughly enhanced by that.
The layouts were top-notch as well, they got really creative sometimes. And besides the jerky water sometimes, the overall aesthetic and art direction here is really pleasant to the eyes.

Hope even more web-kei guys come to have fun in here. Ideally, the whole roster of Nihonbashi R :P

I compare it more to Ika Musume actually.

Only instead of squid jokes, its fish jokes.

It's both and neither at the same time. Ika Musume's humour is of the innocent and charming type, Nyaruko's humour relies on parodies of otaku culture with the occasional ecchi stuff. Muromi has the marine theme of Ika Musume but strips it of the innocent charm, then take some of the ecchi humour from Nyaruko with none of the otaku references, mix the two together but throws acid on top for the kicker, that's the impression I've got from the first episode.

EDIT: Although from the next episode preview it looks like there will be otaku jokes (I see pretty blatant Nausicaa reference), so maybe it is more aligned to Nyaruko afterall.

Nice and funny first episode. The visuals are great, I like the humor. I was only going to give the show a try since I like Yukari Tamura but I'm glad to surprised like this.

BTW am I the only one who feel sorry for Muromi-san I mean that fish hook hurts like hell, it's barbed, and she got hit twice . moreover what's with her tail that only happens to sickly fish, it's almost eaten through by tail rot

Well, I did feel bad for her and hurt a bit when imagining what she felt. But then again, her reaction just made me laugh away.

Muromi 02 - Absolutely Defenseless Leviathan

This show's sense of humor is wonderful. In a way, this episode did a lot of "world building", in a sense, just by casually dropping the most outlandish facts. A world where every major religion is true, the Leviathan is a cute mermaid girl, and there are shellphones. As far as fictional depictions of dragonoids go, I kinda like this Levia little more than Leviatan's Levi. Mostly because she has dark skin in her character design, and I am a sucker for that. Her propensity for burning everything is just a bonus. Such an enjoyable 10 minutes, the right mixture of history, mythology and sexy comedy.
