Good anime can be executed without being boresome even if it is longer. being longer it gives more depth to the character (of course if the time is used on characters and not on fanservice, like in ZnT or other similar 'depth' animes). If the length determines if you are bored or not then just go watch short clips (like one or two minute length) as I think those would be thrilling experience for you. Of course going too long is a problem but not with the characters that Toradora has. If this would be a 48 or 36 episode season it may have been much better than now as simply then the depth of characters could be displayed properly as their development instead of rushing things. Can't say that Toradora does bad thing all together given the ridiculous disproportion in episodes and amount of volumes it should cover, but it certainly could be better with more length. For me the best example of long but still great anime that does not rush things and still maintain to be interesting/amusing is spice and wolf. Sometimes it may look like things are stretching but the two great main leads and their verbal dancing with each other make it very great experience to follow. |

I realize it's a good story and all, but I just couldn't watch it... nothing really happened at all... It's not the sort of story that makes a good anime. Quote:
I know I wouldn't want to watch 4-5 episodes of Kitamura being an emo twat, but that's just me. I think the show is doing a great job. I love the books too, but they're books and I can read them at my own pace... |

I agree with the statement that ToraDora! should be better with a slower pace.
Why JCStaff/GENCO doesn't made 'Seasons', like ZnT or SnS? The problem I see in doing this is the more difficult to establish an end of the occasional 1st one. But it's THAT problem? |

That's why the average season nowadays is 12-13 episode, instead of 24-26. |

One last note:
I thought it was interesting to watch Kitamura consciously switch from the formal neutral "watashi" to the more masculine assertive "ore" when confessing to Sumire. To some extent he was trying to sound as rough as she does .

What an embarrassing episode. Kitamura always makes me cringe, but this time he really outdid himself. I had to mute the last half of the episode and kinda squint at the screen so I could see it without seeing it, you know? And a catfight? Seriously? Over Kitamura? Oh, brother.
Anyway, the next episode promises to be more Minoriningful. Download faster! Faster!
