Got it.

But seariously, I was totaly thinking in Nanoha terms.
So of course I would not be able to distinguish a + 0.003s nuke impact from a 0.003s beam impact to save my life.
It's good to know scientific terms of measure, even if you don't really use them.
They allow you to visualize something without having to actually see it and you don't have to go through lengthy conversations where people have to spell out just how huge something is with flash cards and visual aids.

Or you can go to the guy's blog, too.

Wonderful MAD and a great song. Too bad the show it's from makes me get bad vibes seeing Nanoha and Fate together, not to mention that the lyrics makes me a little sad. The harpist is also the same one who did "Heart-shaped chant" - Agematsu Mika.❤
Ah, reminds me of how Mizuki Nana is supposed to appear on that Music Japan thing again sometime soon....

You might want to take an image that actually looks like an explosion then, rather then an orbital beam. Last I checked, explosions don't exactly do their job in a straight line from the sky.

Sarcasm aside though, if that's an explosion, what's the beam for?

Someone hasn't read everything.

That's 0.003 sec into point impact from an orbital strike, as if taken by a high speed camera transmitting the information to a safe location. any later and the next image would have to be done from over a hundred miles away.

Oh wow, I almost missed this great amv. Thanks a lot for the link Nina!
The last scene really got me, I didn't expect to see a kiss. That was cute.
BTW, does someone have the image used at 1:12? The one with the hug at the rooftop, but with no clothes on. I think I don't have seen that one before.

I've been getting some PM's after posting that Vivio image. To re-state: The doujinshi is not a Teen Vivio doujinshi. That image was the only image of Teen Vivio in the entire doujinshi.

The rest of it is Fate. And brutal rape at that. Cyclone doujinshi are notorious for that.

If you still want it though, PM away.

I've read everything. Still doesn't change the fact that the beam makes the whole thing look like an orbital laser.

Addition from IRC as suggested by fellows: Unless it is a missile, it is highly doubtful that concentrated energy beams from orbit produce large scale explosions, it would drill a huge hole in the crust instead. Perhaps we can move the discussion to tech thread?

Then I guess you don't understand thermodynamics as well as I thought you did...
What happens when the energy equal to 200 Megatons is delivered to the surface of the Earth?
The same thing that happens to anything when you deliver that much energy. It heats up and expands... Violently. Just because the energy is being delivered via high energy particle beam, doesn't mean it's not that much energy.

After all, a grill cooking at 510 degrees dosn't look like it'll melt the skin off your hand... but it will. And I work with two of them daily.

You're just seeing the very moment of impact before the energy delivery creates the actual explosion.

So it is an orbital laser then? That's mostly what's confusing me. Not the damage, but imagining that as anything else then an orbital laser is hard.

*facepalm*

Now with Tigers explanation I really thought I was a Nuke explosion, but I was right all along. It was a beam...
And that was all I wanted to know...

Here's a new image I did.

(I think I can turn this into a signature too... will play around and see how to get it just under size)

EDIT: found this.

Now THAT is sweet, would make an ideal logo for a spin-off sidestory or something

Actually, the most fitting one should have been the Virtue, with the big pink beams of doom and all... But then you know how bulky that unit is...<_<

OT: anyone happend to have a copy of section 9's lineup that appear in Ghost in the shell stand alone complex 2nd Gig OP ?

It's the one where you see all of section 9 in front a white background , it's often parodied.
