I'm curious, what exactly happened to the MC's little sister in their past life after he died? Did that email he sent to their mom right before dying cause all her lies to be exposed thus ruining everything, or what?

She mentioned that after MC died, apparently her life completely fucked up... maybe he did send a message to his parents

After returning home from her trip, her parents slapped her (because they got his text) and tossed her out of the home after the funeral.
From there she got together with a violent guy, had a daughter with him, but eventually got beat to death in one of her boyfriend's fits.

Ironically she comes to believe that her misfortune doesn't come from her brother dying and blame him for it, but blames it all on him not being there to make things happy for her.
Heavy brocon.

^^ The first chapter of the manga shows the MC sending their mom an email with evidence that his sister used the money that was supposed to be for her obtaining some kind of certification on an overseas vacation right before he died.

^ Well then, that certainly explains why after reincarnation and finding out MC is her brother, she makes sure to never cross a certain line.

Is this from a pattern that I'm not seeing?

Or is this more of a "people that the MC knows in his previous life pop up in first arc, people from MC world pop up in the second arc, something similar should happen in third arc and the arc's prominent characters."

What confused me with the latest manga chapter was that the MC's new life had two sisters. I know that it was said in the beginning of the WN, but after the first few introduction chapters, I could not remember reading about anything from the eldest sister. (This is from MTL, so some phrase may have always translated the eldest sister as something else.) The only things that happened were always the second sister's screw-ups: her slave, shenanigans her slave does, Leon beating up said slave,
Spoiler for First arc's War Phase spoilers:

Heck, I only remember that the second sister was expected to actually work like the rest of MC's family ever since that entire fiasco.

Can anyone help me understand what significance the eldest sister had?

It just a guess because they bring her up and that some time mean there could be future plans for her in the story

Only one of the sister is bring up. So far the another sister does not have must of a role.

I guess it's better to give a clear family chart of Leon's family since there is a user who is confused about oldest sister and so on.

Leon's father, Barkas, is the current head of the Household and carries the rank of Baron.
At the beginning of the story it goes....

----------------------------------------------
Head(Husband): Barkas
Main wife: Zola
Concubine: Luce: (Leon's mother)

Children (From oldest to youngest):
First son: Lutart (Zola's son).
First daughter: Zola's daughter ←forgot her name

Second son: Nyx (Barkas and Luce's son)
Second daughter: Juna(Barkas and Luce's daughter)
Third son: Leon (Barkas and Luce's son)
Third daughter: Finley(Barkas and Luce's daughter)
Fourth son: Collin (Barkas and Luce's son)

Others:
Zola, Zola's daughter, and Juna all have sex slave(s).
---------------------------------------------------

At the end of 3rd story (or begining of the fourth story)...
The family chart changed due to Zola revealing the truth of her son not being Barkas's child in a fit of rage. In the same chapter Juna's slave was killed off by Barkas due to treachery.

-------------------------------------------------
Head(Husband): Barkas
Wife: Luce: (Leon's mother)

Children (From oldest to youngest): Each of the children had their position fixed/moved up due to their previous sibling having zero relation their father and household
First son: Nyx (Barkas and Luce's son)
First daughter: Juna(Barkas and Luce's daughter)
Second son: Leon (Barkas and Luce's son)
Second daughter: Finley(Barkas and Luce's daughter)
Third son: Collin (Barkas and Luce's son)

-----------------------------------------------------

Different topic but Leon never kills except for two occasions. First occasion being in 3rd story during the invasion of his country. He killed the enemies. He only killed because it was necessary since he didn't have the leisure of keeping them alive (like in 2nd story arc).

But the second occasion was the only time he actually killed someone intentionally due to pure anger. Olivia was kidnapped in the fifth story arc by the enemies. One of the six leaders attempted to rape Olivia in the room where she was locked in. Leon saved her just in nick of time and knocked the rapist down. When he took her to safety he returned to the rapist and did something. In the next chapter or so the enemy solders found the rapist dead.

Are you sure that we are reading the same story?

Since in the beginning, he wasn't interested in killing and the only reason he decided to "destroy" the Republic was because of them kidnapping Olivia even though he didn't have any desire to start a conflict, and the only reason he left them alive was because Olivia hadn't anything done to her (other than being kidnapped) or had any signs of a wound in her, otherwise he would have really killed everyone there (like he did to the guy who tried to rape her).

You say that as if remaning in power in that country was a good thing. Let me list their current situation right now.

-They lost their source of power that was the Holy tree, and it was this power for which they were feared and respected by the people.

-With the loss of the holy tree, the country lost all it's source of power that it used for all their devices, which included things needed for everyday life and it's source of defence against other countries.

-Everyone in the country know that this all started first by the nobles kidnapping Leon's Fiance, and blame the nobles for provoking him, leaving their country like that.

-They lost a lot of competent subordinates who could have helped them in rebuilding the country.

-They will be forever critized by the people for any mistake they make from now on, and even if there was nothing they could do about it they will be forced to take the blame by the people.

-They will be forced to alway work wthout much rest, less they will take the risk of being critized by the people.

-The Republic will be looked down upon by other countries since now with the holy tree gone and the loss of a lot of their army, they are severely weak with high chances of being attacked since they didn't have the best relationship with other countries.

Now take into account that before they were rich, had a lot of power and influence thanks to the holy tree, the people either respected or feared them and didn't have to worry about beign attacked to later be in their current situation.

And lets no forget about the main perpetrator for this situation, you may think he got off easy by not being killed, but his situation is a lot worse than the other nobles. He will live for the rest of his life working just like a slave for his country, and no matter how many good things he does in the future, he will be always remembered as the criminal who ruined the country, a stigma so big to the point that even if he had childrens, they will be forced to carry it too as the child of the criminal who bought ruin to the country.

It wasn't due to no reason that they desperately wanted to give Leon a noble title in their country, since that way even if it means they will be ruled by him at least they would had his protection in the case of beign attacked by other countries and would need to help them in rebuilding the country.

Basically, their situation is just that bad.

Thank you for clearing up my misunderstandings. While I was aware that Zola's part of the family had not blood relation to Leon, I was not aware that it was the eldest sister that kept making things difficult for him. But still what was the point of the other sister?

Also the youngest sibling is the most pure. I am of the opinion that he respects Leon as an amazing brother but does not admire him.

In regards for placing blame on the nobles, wasn't there already an old-aged noble who was set to be executed anyway to placate the anger of the Republic? Can't remember his name, but he was the second game's main antagonist. In WN he is someone attempting to protect the system the Republic was built on from the machinations of a woman he was supposed to marry and her deranged husbnad.

Also for more facts about general Republic fame:

Because they had the Holy Tree:
-all aristocrats wield superpowers (or really powerful magic)
-tree occasionally produces Mana Stones - a resource equivalent to our world's coal
-tree also powers any and every machinery that belongs to Republic - this means airships have unlimited power and can stay afloat like any other airship
Context: Most countries outside of the Republic require a particular resource to enable their airships to fly. Republic airships float purely off of the power of the Holy Tree.
-whenever an aristocrat makes a proclamation of a binding contract, Holy Tree marks any and all parties related to that contract; if one party is unable to fulfill their part of the contract or attempts to break the contract, they will die by the power of Holy Tree (not sure about loopholes though)
-a contract is only binding if all parties give their consent to the contract (kinda like No Game No Life's Aschiente before a game)
-if a contract includes transfer of ownership of any items between marked parties, it will switch the authority of the item in question to the new owner according to the contract
Context: This does not mean that related parties REALLY owns the object. There needs to be recognition of item in question, and a party who receives said item. This is a loophole that allows the earlier mention aristocrat take away MC's ship from the idiots. Even though the idiots don't own the ship, they have to hand it over by any means necessary or else they die. In the idiots' case, while they don't own it, they have higher authority over Leon and could technically force Leon to hand it over thus fulfilling the contract. This loophole was also used by Leon against said aristocrat. When the ship's "crew" started to go crazy, the ship is recognized as the item that needs to have the ownership transferred over and Leon is recognized as the individual as the new owner. The asshole aristocrat is the party who is supposed to transfer the ownership to Leon by any means possible lest he die. Only way out of this is to willingly revoke your abilities to the tree.
-any powers from the tree are really powerful; this includes superpowers granted to aristocrats, powers granted to airships, and other powers

As a result of all of these powers, the aristocrats are really powerful. However, there has to be a weakness. This weakness is: these powers can only be used defensively. Looks confusing here but let me explain.

If a country were to invade, tree grants Republic aristocrats power so that they may repel the invasion. No need for contracts because and invasion implies harm comes onto the Holy Tree.
Every country knows this so logically you can say don't bother with them. They're trolls.
If a Republic aristocrat wants to make an invasion, they can only do so on their own. Their powers come from the Holy Tree, but the Holy Tree isn't coming with them on their invasion. In fact, the Holy Tree doesn't want to move away from its spot, and it's nearly impossible to move the tree or the land in which the tree is rooted to.
So, if an aristocrat wants to get something from another country, they have to make the other country as the aggressor. This is done by baiting the opposite party. Egg them on to fight against you, provoke them into fighting you, perform an action that they must respond no matter what (this hasn't happened but for example rape the other country's princess, other country must retaliate for this act of defilement on their country's royalty, crusade against Republic, Republic now can fight with power of Holy Tree)
[AGAIN! The example above didn't happen but Republic would do something similar. In the case of MC losing his ship, that aristocrat beat up one of the 5 idiots and forced the other 4 to take action against him for the fallen one.

Also remember that the Holy Tree can produce mana stones which every other countries needs to power their own airships and other items (stove, lighting, machinery, etc.). Even if every country in that world don't want anything to do with the Republic, they do need the mana stone as a resource and the Republic is the only country that would trade away this resource. This is the general reputation that the Republic has.

Irrelevant Note: Noticed this became a wall of text.

Also forgot to mention, the only things the Holy Tree would not harm is itself, any young sapling that is the same species as it, and any owner of a young sapling.
Context: In the Republic, saplings are highly valued because of this property of not being attacked by Holy Tree. Thus aristocrats always plan to get a sapling and bait each other so that the aristocrat with the sapling can get everything that he wants eventually having power equal to a King/Emperor. However, saplings have always died in the Republic so this perk is only temporary. Some aristocrats are trying to figure out why saplings die so quickly so they can make it survive and hold this perk for nearly the rest of time.

All this shit mentioned above is why the Republic was so dominant on the world stage before Leon rekt everything in retaliation.

Are we?

He went on rampage because they crossed the line they shouldn't. The only reason he didn't kill them is not because they didn't do anything to Livia, it's because Livia and co. stopped him from doing so.

All of the things you listed are the consequences of their own action. Not exactly a punishment from Leon. Sure he didn't have to kill them, but there are a lot of ways to punish someone short of killing them. He could just lock them up until they die, clearly that way they won't get any chance of any redemption. I mean, why would they get any chance anyway?

Why do you say they lost the Holy Tree? They still have the seedlings. They still could do the rebuilding, despite not in the near time.

I heard from spoiler that Leon gets a Sapling, does he know how to make it grow and not die?

In WN he is someone attempting to protect the system the Republic was built on from the machinations of a woman he was supposed to marry and her deranged husbnad.
Yes there was (incidentally, he was the father of the one who instigated all the "war" against Leon), but all he did was to take responsibility for his son's actions as the ringleader, the other nobles are blamed for joining the one who instigated the mess or for not doing anything to stop him.

After he rescued Livia, his only focus was to quickly end the "war" he had with the Republic and for that he only needed to kill the ringleader to oficially stop it. Livia only stopped him not for the sake of the guy from the Republic, but for Leon's sake since she is aware than Leon doesn't want to continue killing, and that it isn't really necessary for him to kill (since the guy would die anyway by being executed as a way to take responsability).

Why do you say they lost the Holy Tree? They still have the seedlings. They still could do the rebuilding, despite not in the near time.
Their punishment was Leon not helping them, being forced to deal with any trouble that may befall the Republic by themselves, and their situation like I described isn't something that will be fixed in just a few years, it may take a few decades before the Republic becomes a bit more stable. Also, that Holy tree seedling? It will take centuries before it grows big enough to give the benefits the old one gave to them.

Yes (thanks to the game knowledge) and later on he wil also plant that sapling on his territory to grown his own Holy tree, but it will take a very long time for it to grow the size of the one the Republic had (centuries at least) so it's more like a investment for future generations.

Uh, I never said Livia stopped it for the dumb villain's sake. And no, Leon basically got the guy on gun point and ready to kill, but stopped by Livia and co. because the girls (Livia and others) are scared of Leon and doesn't want Leon to go the way where killing became the norm for him. (there's the guy's father too trying to stop him, but who cares about some old dude anyway.)

How do you get that as punishment? Is Leon their dad or something? It's not like Leon is responsible for their lives, as I said, it is the consequences for starting the mess, not actually a direct punishment from Leon. Leon basically gave free pass to them, since Leon is a pushover masochist.

FYI, Leon does donate the supplies for the reconstruction after the war.

I did say so.

More like thanks to Yumeria rather than his knowledge. He doesn't know anything about growing the Tree.
