Gintama the Final

The cover of volume 77 officially confirms that Gintama will be getting an anime movie.

Considering the 2nd movie's title. will the title be Gintama The Final Last End Chapter?

I'm guessing this movie will cover the last chapters, since they don't have enough chapters for a new season?

They have more than enough content for another season. If they intend to cover the rest of the manga, they'll need more than one movie.

Welp made this thread 2 years ago and never bothered to update it. Anyway the blu-ray of the film gets released next month but it got released or leaked on a Japanese streaming website.

Spoiler for Gintama the Final movie:

There are also two semi-final episodes which covers the chapters between the TV series and movie.

Anyway good movie although I think prefer the other final movie, still series end at a high point but its shame to see the franchise end. Until Gintama Super of course (I hope )

Speaking of which, did anyone manage to watch these two special episodes?

Color me surprised, I didn't think anyone would sub it. I think I'm going to wait until the BD release in case Crunchyroll releases it along with the semi-final, since the semi-final's fansubs are apparently not good quality.

I'm super tempted to watch though.

I believe the subs of the semi-final episodes is based on the manga translation.

The movie's BD sold over 52.000 copies in the first week.

And with this, Gintama is finally over for good. I'm glad it managed to get a complete adaptation, given how rare that is. But poor Gorilla, 52k BDs in one week for Gintama against 1 million in three days for Demon Slayer (which is completely incomprehensible to me, but whatever)...

The saddest part of the Final for me was when Hattori spoke and the voice I heard wasn't Keiji Fujiwara's. He held that role for such a long time, it's so sad he passed away so close to the end.

The semi-final was hilarious, I had forgotten about the Shachi and Asaemon subplot. The movie had the right balance between comedy and drama, as usual.

Finally got to see the movie in theaters. Perhaps because I was only able to make the dub, there was only one other person there. Had to wince a bit for the poor Gorilla, but I did get the best seat in the house due to this.

The audio team deserves a gold star; the sound effects, especially during the last fight (just silence and clashes), was amazing. Visuals were a let down. There were noticeable derp faces, and it was probably the theater, but everything looked like it was in 480p; couldn't even read the credits without fuzz. :/

I'll be buying the BD when it's released to watch the subbed version. The series may be officially over, but it'll definitely never be a complete farewell for me.
