I think of bernkastel when I look a it. If I'm wrong, Isn't she 100 years old? Her clothing resembles the fashion statement in the 19th century. (Not to mention the bow >.>)

Well let's go by elimination:

Kumasawa? It can't be denied, since the age difference it's huge everything is possible
Natsuhi? Completely different hairs, no sign of pride... very unlikely
Eva? That was already done, completely different character, 0%
Kyrie? Not a chance, she can't have that hairs.
Kasumi? See kyrie
Rosa? Rosa is still relatively young so she wouldn't be that different from her little girl self.
Jessica? Completely different
Shannon? Completely different
Kanon? Cough... cough... Well it can't be completely denied
Maria? Completely different
Ange? Completely different
Bern? Bern smiling all cutely?
Lambdadelta? Hahahahaha!

So we are only left with characters that have been mentioned but have never been shown so far:

Asumu
Kinzo's wife
Beatrice (the first one)
Nanjo's granddaughter
Runon
Manon

And then as the last option this might be a completely new character, however in such case she could be everyone.

I'm usually very skeptic, but I'm also very good at recognizing an artist's work. If this picture wasn't done by the very same person that made the others, then he's very very good.

Still... why is that such material is released without the main site having announced it yet?

Nothing unusual. Remember last time the cover art and opening movie went up on Melonbooks ages before the official site had either? Those were real.

I couldn't remember because when I came to know Umineko ep4 had been released already ^^;

She reminds me of a young Virgilia. Her hair is straight like hers and it's not too far from her hair color (aging could explain the difference), and also her little hat has three roses on it just like Virgilia's.

I personally find Virgilia and Kumasawa to both be lacking in story, both are very shrouded in mystery. Perhaps Kumasawa was like Maria and idolized witches? Maybe this is Lady CHIYO. XD

I don't know who it is, but something tells me that she's at least connected to Virgilia and Kumasawa...

- Somehow, I'm leaning her being a young Kyrie. (And not an entirely new character.)
It's a portrait of her in training. But when she left her family, she messed up her hair to remove traces of it all.

After further comparisons I also concur with you. There is a striking resemblance between this girl and Virigilia, in particular the bangs are practically identical. Of course Virgilia imho is just a younger idealized version of Kumasawa so I think this girl is probably a young Chiyo. And there wouldn't even be any need to wonder why she is in the picture since we already know her original name as witch is Beatrice.

could it be that "the end of witch" refers to Chiyo?
