LOL god, I haven't heard the word gams in a long long time, think last time I heard it was back in school when one of the girls asked what it meant, we strung her along for abit telling her something else, ahh good days

For some reason I just laughed at that statement yet I still imagine it to be that Lucy does have the best games outta all the girls

Btw if I recall right doesn't that Wood Make lass supposed to have short hair?

Her guild card profile mentioned how she called getting a haircut as "chopping her hair". So she probably simply got a haircut later on.

I really like episode 21, seems the start of a really impressive story. I laughed at Erza Re-equiping to put on PJs, we also have gun magic, seems quite impressive, and is it just be or did Juan look a bit like Helsing's Alucard when he was in shadow like that.

Could have been quite an awesome episode if not for the stills. I've a feeling that they'd only put in motions for the big fights. What a shame.

Spoiler for Episode 22:

Pretty nice paced episode, though i've come to expect that by now from this adaptation.

Natsu vs Gajeel wasn't a stilled fight, so there's some hope for the later fights in this arc, because the best is yet to come, and shall be starting next week. Good music placement anyway for the last few scenes, which are building up what is yet to come. One of my favorite scenes, and i can't wait to see it animated.

No Juvia makes me , though she has her time to shine in this arc, and i can not wait. <333

Firstly unfortunately I'd seen the episodes main spoiler, but the latter revelation was more important. Lucy can be pretty clever when she wants to be. It's a good thing she went with Fairy Tail too. Anyway I remember in an older episode Lucy writing a letter to her mother. This obviously explains why she didn't write to her father as well. I'm guessing her parents mustn't live together for some reason. Although fortunately it means that we're unlikely to get a "your negligence killed mother, dad." scenario unless Lucy writes to dead people.

I was on the edge of my seat for the Natsu/Gajeel. I liked how they use their powers creatively. My favourite move in this episode being Iron guy's foot spikes into the guild beams. Although the whole bad guys don't care about their nakama thing is getting old. (Though this is only it's second use.)

I could really feel Lucy's guilt over her guildmates suffering and her faith as well. It was nice. I really like the Lucy/Natsu friendship. It really feels like this series is the epitome of shonen values etc.

Also giant spider crab guild building in the preview.

Spoiler for Ep 22:

This was a nice episode. I've really been looking forward to this arc and it's going nicely so far. The fight with Natsu and Gajeel was pretty good and glad they were using their abilities without the stills. Just some nice things like Natsu melting Gajeel's punch and Gajeel sticking to the beams with foot spikes. They didn't quite get to go all out, though if they did there wouldn't have been anything left of that place.

Feel for Erza who wouldn't want to retreat, but knowing it was the right move. They were at a disadvantage after losing their Master and morale was seriously low. If they kept on fighting it would not have been a pretty conclusion. While Gray can be hot headed in his own way even he couldn't disagree with Erza when she asked him like that. Having to carry the burden of being reasonable was hard on Erza. She would have wanted to get revenge for Makarov.

That Jose really is a sly character. Not fighting Makarov directly instead using a trick to remove him from the equation. Though he paid for that in full thanks to Lucy. Seems those two were seeing who could pull the bigger move. Jose tried to keep Lucy from the bathroom trick, but Lucy called him, and then she delivered a nice shot. Although he almost won out due to there being no way out especially when she didn't have her keys.

But yeah Natsu was pissed. He was already angry about the guild, but then they go and capture Lucy? That poor guy Natsu grabbed . Did lead to a nice little scene with catching the falling Lucy. Talk about good timing there. Of course also ties in with a heavy amount of guilt Lucy is feeling. Still it was her father's decision to use a guild to try and get her back. Though I doubt that will give her any comfort.

Really this episode was tough on a few characters. Mira took on the tough role of sitting behind waiting for the results.

This was not what I was expecting after the previous episode. I thought that guy who jumped in would kick peoples tail, and they would have to run away. I didn't expect them to use some trick to strip Makarov of his powers. That was crazy enough, but the thing with Lucy... Wow, she would rather jump off a tower, and possibly die, hoping Natsu would be there to catch her, then return to her father. Now that suggests some serious issues with her parents.

That was pretty good for FT standards, the stills and loops were well-hidden (no reason to point them out either since it ruins the action), lots of action and drama this time around. Loved the ending of the episode, responding to 21's ending with Makarov raging
I had expected Jose (who I thought was pronounced Hosse) to have a high-pitched voice, but once again the VAs surprise me. He kinda looks like the Earl from DGM during those last moments, freaky
I'd say the highlight of this episode were the Lucy moments at the end, since Natsu's fight was interrupted by a falling Makarov and an order to retreat. Poor Elfman was used as a platform

Maybe it's because of high expectations for one of the manga's best arcs, but this ep's animation felt pretty disappointing.

Specific beefs:
- They had Makarov turn all the way around and stare at Aria for a few seconds before getting blown away, which ruined the element of surprise. Should've had him turning around in slow motion during that part.
- Makarov getting blown away didn't have enough animation impact. Should've shown him busting through the wall going AAAAAAAAA like in the manga.
- They turned him green!
- Finally, they really screwed up Erza's hug posture compared to the manga. Having her bend over to reach Gray's chest looked way too weak, not to mention awkward.

Well she is in Fairy Tail . Figure a degree of crazy is part of the requirements. That was a pretty nice catch though. Making it just in time and spinning so Natsu took the brunt of the collision instead of Lucy.

Lol yeah, what's up with THAT!? Freaked me out, is what it did.
About the Erza part, I think she was meant to have a moment of weakness, so the anime actually did a better job this time.

Eh, i don't see how any of them are problems in this episode. They are just handled differently compared to the source material, that's all.

I love this episode! Looks like they really did save up the motions for big fight. Really love watching the motions in the fights between Gajeel and Natsu and Elfman.

As usual, excellent work with the voice acting of Natsu.

And the last bit with Lucy falling off the tower is the long-awaited moment on characterisation. Great to see the interaction there between Lucy and Natsu as well - Natsu changing his mind to return to the guild rather than destroy the headquarter.

Next up is gonna be the big one!!

The only real thing that bugs me right now is those friggin screechs Gajeel does. Seriously undermines his "bad-ass - ness" impression I got from him in the Manga. Instead it makes him just feel "insert word here akin to not so bad-ass boss."

That and I fully expected him to come out with a Vegeta-like voice. Alas his current voice is extremely poor. Anyone else?
