An another excellent episode... beautifully drawn, check out that sky, water, animation is very detailed... Loved that effect at 21.51.

Mood was peaceful, but

painful. As it looks like they are formatting everyones memories about Yorito, Aono-Koyori moment was heartbreaking as well as Yorito-Mana. Hmm... did Aono tell to Koyori about what's happening or something...

Spoiler for Episode 11:

The main moments were the fact that everyone forgets about Yorito and Aono, not including the Yakas (Mana and Koyori forgets last), Takeshi and Mayuko leave, and the episode ends with Matsuri entering Aono's home and facing her (with the sword in her hand).

Works for me. Ep11 was another great one. Maybe not things that were totally novel, but events run so well that...

...they made me quite sad for the participants, especially Mana and Koyori.

Really nice voice acting from Honda Youko, in my opinion, and Shimizu Ai did a good job, too. Noto Kawaii's voice as lovely as always. And Koshimizu Ami's Sae gives us a jolt every time.

One thing I liked was the fact that I could see "routes" to various endings:

Yorito-Mana, Yorito-Aono, Yorito-Matsuri, Koyori-Aono (in a way), Matsuri-Mayuko, etc. I still don't know what's going to happen, although it looks like a triple murder-suicide from here.

EDIT: Not sure if the comment about requiring spoilers included my post, since I thught I'd spoilered everything of significance already, but I've spoilered even more, just to be sure.

I really don't agree with having to spoiler things in these single-episode threads. Speculation about an episode can be in the previous-episode thread. I personally don't visit single-episode threads until I've seen the episode. But I've covered up everything I could think of anyway, since we have decided to follow this mistaken custom for sola. I think there would be a courtesy in allowing these threads to be free, too. Spoilering things defeats half the purpose of having single-episode threads.

To tell the truth, I understand but doesn't like the seeming direction to the end. Yakas are not what people expects in this scientific world, thus its existence may be very disturbing to the society, but still, I always believe that things are better revealed instead of being hidden in the long run, as you can't tell a lie forever.

all they are talking about is current stuff in episode and then giving predictions of future episodes what they think is likely to happen. whether its true or not no one knows unless they have read the full manga. but this is the episode 11 discussion thread talking about events and whatnot that happened in the episode

Keeping things under spoiler tags until the episode is subbed is a common practice here and a form of courtesy towards other people who don't want to see major spoilers beforehand. No, it isn't a rule, and if one doesn't want spoilers it is easier to stay away from the thread, but a little consideration never hurt any one.

On a side note - it is impossible for any one to know the future events, because the anime is ahead of the manga. If anything, watching the anime is spoiling the manga for you

Now... hmm... this episode was just one tearjerker after another.

It looks to me, that Aono is doing a mass altering of everyone's memories, erasing any existence that she, Yorito, and Matsuri ever existed. I don't think it's the work of Matsuri, since I don't think I've ever seen her manipulate anyone's memories.

wontaek said is true: "I always believe that things are better revealed instead of being hidden in the long run, as you can't tell a lie forever." You simply cannot keep telling a lie forever. Eventually the truth will be revealed. Yorito knows he isn't real, and I know that he can't continue going to school knowing full well that he can't age. It would bring up too many questions once suspicions arise. And, it seems that the best route is for all Yakas-- Matsuri, Aono, and Mayuko-- to disappear from the lives they've encountered in this town.

The first people to have their memories altered were Yorito's classmates, then Mana and Aono last. It was just sad watching this happen. But, I guess this is the only way.

It looks like now to be Matsuri killing Aono. And, if Yorito's existence is tied to Aono, then he, too, will disappear. There are still two more episodes to go. Most likely the fight between Aono and Matsuri takes place during Ep.12. The death of one or both of them ends in 13.

The suggestion that somebody else stated that all three will disappear (Aono, Matsuri, and Yorito) seems likely, and maybe Matsuri is the last to die. The OP sequence is perplexing though: It still shows Yorito (most likely due to the sleeves shown) as closing a photo album of Matsuri. It's the one thing that someone else pointed out in the other thread that I can't figure out.

I'm, then, reminded of both the OP and ED songs as I reread the lyrics. I think the first now refers to Aono and the ED is Matsuri's. It seems to hint at what might happen in the end.

The story has just gotten sadder and sadder. It seems all three will disappear.

Lastly, is it just me or did anyone think that possibly Mana really did like Yorito and was about to tell him before sunset? In the end, she couldn't even say "Goodbye" and he just disappeared.

The impression I got from Sola manga series was that Mana did have active interest in Yorito. One of point my wife made was that it is impossible for Mana to even occasionally cook Yorito's dinner unless she really liked him. In real life you almost never see a girl cook for anyone outside her immediate family. One exception I know was this story about two Korean student in graduate student dorm and it resulted in marriage as she said she gotten so used to cooking for the guy, she didn't think marrying him would make much difference in her life. If Sola was a game, choosing Mana would mean choosing to live like regular human being as long as possible, and I predict there will be a Mana route in Sola ren ai simulation game, which will appear soon.

There weren't any huge surprises this week, but I just found that scene with Mana and Yorito to be so powerful. As Kaoru Chujo said, Honda Youko did a great job.

my thoughts exactly ~ the problem here is yorito being so occupied with matsuri and aono to even notice, which is tragic for mana...but i must commend her for holding her feelings in so well...we have often seen this type of character acting unreasonable just for the sake of her love...

this ep centered around 2 main groups:
mana and yorito / koyori and aono

ill start off with the koyori and aono pair...
while nothing special happened between them we do see koyori's desperately clinging onto aono ~ she tells her to never return but as a friend koyori can never do something like that. Emotions flow as we see her trying to retain that fragile bond by asking for help on a common interest: origami. it's obvious that koyori is just using this as an excuse to be together with aono who tells her to stop after a while ~ then comes the teary scene where koyori tells aono that she doesnt want to lose a friend...

with all the things that is going on i would have thought that aono is planning on moving into another city (seeing her pack up yorito's presents) ~ i wonder if aono will also make herself disappear from everyone's memories like yorito but in a different case...

then onto the mana and yorito aspect of this ep...
it is boiling up! as well as mana is able to hold in her feelings for yorito it all becomes too much in this ep. yorito is being unsensitive towards his friend is what mana is feeling and this causes her to mouth out subconciously but imo those are her ture feelings towards the situation. she tells yorito to be more considerate of her friend's feelings which is rather true. so far he has been holding information from mana when obviously things are not "all right". here comes the dumb male lead again *sigh*

everyone begins to forget about yorito. why? what i think is that yorito's existance is disappearing. after being "killed" by matsuri he is no longer attached to aono (meaning aono can no longer control him as their link has been destoryed). this can only lead to the death of yorito. it is aono who is keeping yorito alive so with that link destroyed yorito will die ~ but looking at the evidence he did have a day or so left to live (well it does take time for all the magic in his body to be used up).

but in the end even mana forgets him...but not without showing any tears subconciously. even though in this state she doesnt understand why she is crying deep inside her a part of mana will never forget yorito as he disappears off into the wind. weve seen this type of plot before but even so the feelings of forgetting someone you know and love is always tragic. and i suspect koyori to be forgetting aono as well. this existance thing is also linked with the erasal of mana's phone picture...with yorito and aono gone from the screen i can only think that the disappearing act is planned.

takeshi and mayuko ends up leaving ~ and i guess this is the final farewell as the exit is done in such a depressing way...

back to the dramatic action! matsuri shows up at aono's house (omg the BGM IS DROOL during this short scene! :3)...its obvious that matsuri plans to end things with aono but im still left scratching my head as to why she wants to end things so much? aono is no longer in control of yorito and he himself is dying off so why? what is it that makes matsuri want to attack aono (who seemly has finished with causing trouble)...i just dont see the logic here and to me matsuri is action off character...goddam cliffhanger end!

and after the mana crying scene we do see yorito appearing again...but being behind matsuri and in a trance like state id say that his days are numbered...or is matsuri living in denial and attempting to make yorito her doll?

One of point my wife made was that it is impossible for Mana to even occasionally cook Yorito's dinner unless she really liked him. In real life you almost never see a girl cook for anyone outside her immediate family.

Unfortunately, this is anime and not real life. Therefore, a girl who slaves her life for the main character could be doing it out of her good kind heart and have no interest in the guy whatsoever.

But I agree, Mana probably does have a romantic interest in Yorito but it looks like her role was demoted to a side-kick character for the anime. This is too bad because I like Mana as a character.

Well, it is ok, and no one is going to get very upset about it i think It is just a habit of mine (and several other people) ... i guess it carries over from the discussion threads in the "Fansubbed" section, where each series has only 1 thread dedicated to them, so people always keep RAW discussions under the tags there ... i guess that habit carries over to the series with their own forums Likewise, some people might expect to see RAW discussions under spoilers because of this But no - no rules are being broken by not using the spoiler tags.

I believe because Aono can control Yorito, she can also use her powers through Yorito and it looks like she has strong Force with her to clear other people minds too.

Silly me...... I thought that was reasonable speculation... When did they reveal about that? Or did they?
