An anime adaptation for Dantalian no Shoka is in the works. The Light Novel series is written by Gakuto Mikumo (Asura Cryin') and illustrated by G-Yuusuke.

This is a shounen(boy's) light novel series, its published under the shounen light novel label Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko.

A seinen manga adaptation that's titled Dantalian no Shoka Dalian Days is serialized in the seinen manga magazine Comp-Ace. The manga is drawn by Sena Monaco.

There are currently no manga volumes released of both of these manga.

This is funny cause I was just reading the manga the other day. I'm crossing my finger for some impressive visual because AS totally fell short on that part.

Oh my ... hrmm ... I don't remember GAINAX being the chief animation production of any light novels before.

Well from the image above, i don't really see anything bad with Gainax doing a novel adaptation anime. But then i won't comment any further about good or bad Gainax is until i see a PV or more images from the anime itself.

there are a couple of chapters from the light novel translated into english, for those who can't wait and want to get ahead...

not really liked the first chapter that I read; maybe I should try reading a couple more, maybe not. however, I want to think that this may turn out slightly more interesting in animated form, especially with great visuals. It has nice settings, the character designs of the girl pleases my eyes (really hoping they get this right) and there is room for action scenes.

not sure of what to expect, though; but I want to see nice-looking and eye-candy artwork out of this show.
