Looking for a good shoujo anime

just what the title says, but one without rape/attempted rape, ive seen that alot in shoujo manga and it turned me off it straight away

I liked Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun as a shoujo romance anime primarily because of the good characters (especially the supporting cast) and their development, eventhough it lacked a proper ending

That was going to be my suggestion. Kamisama Hajimemashite was also a very fun series, somewhat lighter in tone.

If you want to go old-school, it's pretty hard to beat Fruits Basket.

oh yeah i loved the manga, but the anime changed so much stuff that they cant make a 2nd season now

I actually think Full Moon wo Sagashite beats Fruits Basket. It's a real tear-jerker.

I also find fushigi yuugi to be pretty good old school, with plenty of action. Though there's one rape, but not on the protagonist.

i read that but dropped it at the rape scene, srry but any rape in a show and i drop it straight away, if i want rape ill watch any hentai

It's a list of anime that I've already seen which IMHO fits the taste and safe for girls between 10 to 18....

Kimi Ni Todoke is the obvious suggestion.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun The male lead does make a rape threat early on, but with the context and actions it's pretty clear he doesn't really get what he's doing. (The male lead is rather... socially inept.) There is nothing else like that the rest of the story.

Another vote for Kamisama Hajimemashita. It's streamed at Funimation.


For a story with a mix of comedy, drama, and some romance, I recommend Saiunkoku Monogatari. It stars Kuwashima Houko and Seki Tomokazu; this is probably my favorite performance by one of my favorite seiyuu.
