Well, the thing is, with Madoka people sort of already kenw how it was going to turn out. Here on the other hand we have no idea what this show is really about yet

Rather than a new Madoka, I'd prefer this to be more like Utena in terms of subverting gender roles, using double entendres, symbolism and and playing with taboos all in an over-the-top ludicrous fashion.

Of course, I'm not expecting this work to be a new Utena, since I don't think that's an easy task, but I'd like if things play out similarly in terms of how the show is delivered - or, at least, some aspects of it.

I do agree with you that being something along lines Utena rather than Madoka, but I honestly think it's not going to be either of those, but something completely different. After all, Utena was pretty straight forward about all of these things (it even had it in the title, Revolution, and the entire show was centered around that theme) and Madoka wasn't exactly trying to be all that subtle about things going grim later on.

This on the other hand looks to be a slice-of-life involving penguins, murders, and magical gir --- oh wait this could turn out to be Utena after all, or something in it's lieu anyway in the usage of symbolism at least.

Weird and random doesn't even begin to describe that clip. Also, if the penguins are supposed to robots or something (I remember people posting about the characters being able to control the penguins) then why was it trying to eat that fish? This is going to be a fun first episode....

The penguin is definitely the star in this show.

Even when we get animation in the CM it tells us absolutely nothing.

Anyway, the art style reminds me of Lovely Complex or Ouran Host Club.
