creepy VN's

Looking for some creepy or suspenseful VN's, possibly downright weird.

Examples:
chaos;head
Saya no Uta (this one really made me cringe, because at times you just KNOW whats going on and can only try not to imagine it)

Also ever17 is on my list, just havent gotten to it yet (this isn't the same genre I know, but it shows another genre I am interested in if there is more ideas)

It's old, doesn't have voices, but Tsukihime fits perfectly .

Ever 17 is not creepy.. it's dry (despite its locale!) and boring....

No but it seems fits in "weird" or "mysterious" which i also like. Boring is an opinion I have heard many that don't think so, so I'll try it for myself.

Ever17 is certainly not creepy, but I would not call it BORING by any means. The vast majority of the VN community heralds it as one of the best English localized games. But to each their own, your opinion is your own.

Here are a few of my suggestions:

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Umineko no Naku Koro ni (If you don't like the art for these two, there are patches for the upgraded art)
Kara no Shoujo (To be released in the future in English)
Chaos;Head
Dustmania Grotesque (warning EXTREME GORE, it made me cringe more than Saya)

And two OELVN:

Curse of Slate Rock Manor
[text] - A Summer Story (very short, but free and creepy)

All of these are my favorites and all available in English, and if not officially released easy to find a patch for.

much thanks a lot to check out and as above post I know ever17 doesn't entirely fit with what i stated but it shows other possibilities I could be interested in.

OH forgot one.

If you have a DS, get 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors. If not, there is a Let's Play of it on YouTube.

This might also help, it's a list of horror VNs in a database. http://vndb.org/g7
Oddly, Ever17 IS on the list. ^^;

Unfortunately there won't be that many picks available from ones with English translations, and most have already been mentioned, but there is one i don't see in the thread yet - G-senjou no Maou. Creepy is debatable (unless you count a few specific characters), but it should definitely qualify for suspenseful.

Hmm, I'm not really sure about creepy, but these are some BlackCyc horror ones that I've played. Depends on your definition of 'creepy' as opposed to 'scary', I suppose.

Just suspense is just fine, really I am looking for "roughly" what I mentioned I am more than willing to try things that branch off or are even just "kind of".

I definitely won't call G-senjou creepy, but it is recommended nonetheless. I did find the "chaos" part disturbing though - not that it has scary or gruesome scenes, but the idea itself is pretty disturbing. Anyway, Silverwyrm, you should definitely give it a try. It will possibly get you hooked all the way to the end.

Unfortunately I'm not into this genre of games so I don't have much to recommend, but you should consider Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo by all means. I suppose you can call it disturbing in a way - again, it's the idea, while the story itself is just amazing.

In an over the top manner but yeah...pretty disturbing at times. And yeah...kinda sad too if you like that sort of thing.

Demonbane is not what I'll generally call creepy...

If you liked Chaos;Head you may enjoy Ookami Kakushi as well...

Although it's nowhere near as good as Higurashi or Umineko, in my books. : /

While it isn't creepy, Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo is definitely a great VN to read, and it definitely has its moments of suspense as well. "Depressing" is how i would describe it in a word (albeit with a happy end ... unlike the one in my sig )

Anyways, there is one title i forgot to mention (shame on me, considering my avatar) - 11eyes. Fantasy survival horror (albeit it had it's flaws, still magnitudes of better than the horrible 11eyes anime), it should be pretty spot-on in regards to what you are looking for. It definitely has all of creepiness, suspense and a touch of weirdness at times.

You must definitely try Swan Song then. It's a bit slow in the beginning but it picks up about 1 or 2 hours later. The character interaction was top notch at least for me and the setting is city ruin after the disaster but I guess the overall game is a bit linear. Highly recommended if you like thriller and horror.
