I decided to watch the old Fate/Stay Night anime with a friend so he could understand Fate/Zero... Boy that was a mistake. That anime was a giant piece of turd post Berserker arc (How can you adapt a VN that badly???!)

Ufotable is going to do me proud to finally see this in fully animated glory. The disparity between this and Fate/Stay Night in quality is going to be immense. I'm also dying from unreasonable expectations from this.

That image is just epic

While Urobuchi might not be writing the actual scripts I'm sure he has some sort of supervising role, the production staff hired Kajiura based on his recomendation so if they listen to him for that kind of stuff I'm sure they'd listen if he has something to say about the way the scripts were done.

The opposite actually. They made sure to stress Urobuchi's involvement in Madoka, about how he was going to personally script every episode, how they made sure they followed his word to the letter ... What they tried to do was make it seem like the show was going to be a more light hearted take than his usual tales.

In here tho ... I'm not sure what are they doing by not listing any writer ... this isn't usually a secret you'd keep close to your heart, unless they brought back who ever done the Fate/Stay Night adaptation and are afraid or something ...

Meh, anyway, I'm way to hyped at this point to really care anymore. The show already has so much awesomeness going for it I don't think there is any sort of news that can make me not look forward to it.

This anime has caught my eye for sometime now. Just to be sure though: While this is pretty much a prequel series, will I need to watch Fate/Stay Night first to understand what's going on (I also do know that one of the main protagonists is related to the main one in Stay Night though)?

It's best to play, or at least watch, Fate/stay night. It's best to experience things in the order they were released. Star Wars wouldn't be the same if you watched it starting with Episode I.

Actually I remember in some interview they said they tried (or planned) to hide his involvement but there was a (2ch) leak of the staff several months earlier so it didn't work out.

It's a prequel. And I guess we just got our first taste of the OP. Hm, I'll ahve to hear more. I was expecting something more...sullen I guess.

Possibly as a bonus from wx6867, all previous CMs are shown there too (in reversed order).

Unfortunately music in CM5 is indeed part of OP.

LISA - oath sign

that is shown in the vid, is also mentioned in official F/Z site

http://www.fate-zero.jp/oped/index.html

It's just SO DAMN GENERIC, you can put in just any random anime out there. Why, oh, why it cannot be something with strong Kajiura's vibe like the music in PV1?

But honestly, ED (Aoi Eir - Memoria) doesn't sound much better, as it is generic one too.

Where are the times when OP songs were one of the best from the shows (I quite recently heard again Moonlight Densetsu from Sailor Moon and it's still great, especially original version performed by DALI [first two series]).

It seems kinda upbeat and explosive, did not expect that either. Haven't heard enough to draw a conclusion of course, but I think I'm going to like it...

The OP is even worse and more generic than I expected it to be.

That OP is seriously the first thing about this anime that I've been underwhelmed by.

Rather they cut the budget on the OP/ED than the actual content.
