Without him Gainax probably wouldn't be possible.

Mari's EVA is a completely different thing, its not even an EVA. It seems like its a completely mechanical mech instead of biomechanic. Somehow it reminds me of Jet Alone from the anime .

And what about that Eva that came from the moon that shows in the preview of the first movie? I was hoping that Mari was his pilot, but her Eva is nothing like that one.

That is most likely Kaoru's EVA.

Mari's EVA is shown to have black shoulders with orange parts in the earlier trailers, but the scene was dark and hides most of the EVA's details. Now we know from the magazine scan, the EVA looks totally different from what most people imagined.

People tried to draw her EVA, but they were all 2 legged lol

And also in the previous trailer, her EVA was shown moving forward very rapidly, but it doesn't seem like its running, now we knowing its because it uses wheels.

EVA-01 = Evangelion Test Type Unit-01 = Shinji
EVA-02 = Evangelion Production Model-02 = Asuka

Besides its head and torso, the entire construction is totally different from all EVAs, even the shoulders.

It looks like it can have a quadrupedal walking mode, or roll around with those wheels, and it even has rocket thrusters under the upper thighs, probably for hovering or jumping.

Its almost like a QT-ARMS to me lol

Nah, I'm pretty sure the Provisional Unit-05 is the four legged tank. The moon Eva should be Mk06.

Well, in 'The Girlfriend of Steel', Kaoru pilots an EVA-05.

And 'Mark.06' sounds like its for something that's mechanical, like Mari's EVA.

EVA-00 to 05 should be similar looking models, meaning all of them should be the bipedal humanoid EVAs, including the one from the Moon.

Girlfriend of Steel has no impact whatsoever on the new movies. Although you do have a point about the more military style naming. I guess we'll see. If true, it means that Shinji's boyfriend has been hanging out with an Eva unit on the moon for quite some time, since a completely different Eva design has been completed since then.

So, the Eva 5 from end of evangelion was scrapped out forever? I was not expecting to see the Eva 5 with the dummy, but didn't expect him to be deleted, hehe.

I'm assuming something entirely weirder will be used for this incarnation's Instrumentality, if Anno even decides to go that route, which I doubt.

In regards to the new Eva... Replacing the arms and legs of an unstable bio-humanoid weapon seems to be asking for trouble.

Well, Seele were talking about a plan to make Shinji get along with Rei at the end of the first movie, so i don't think that the instrumentality are on their plans, but maybe Gendou still wants it.
