Did a little research on "The Black Knight" but couldn't find much information other than a tie to King Arthur.

Something about King Arthur's Grandson being labeled as "The Black Knight." Who had a feud with Percival(one of the Knights of the Round Table), something about his wife exchanging rings with him or something.

Sounds a lot like the bitterness between Matou Kariya and Tohsaka Tokiomi fighting over Aoi! =p

Unlike the Green Knight of "Gawaine & The Green Knight," there is no true Black Knight in Arthurian legends. It became popularized as a persona because of (1)Monty Python and (2) black is cool.

There are knights who wear black armor, but there is no "The Black Knight."

Well, I don't really think we are looking for a person ranked as a Knight. I think only Saber / Lancer / Archer are ranked as Knight classes. But someone who dorns black armor nonetheless. And perhaps a proficiency in weaponry.

The Black Knight Berserker's Noble Phantasm is apparently the ability to make anything he holds into a Noble Phantasm, though in exchange the mana cost of materializing him is substantially higher than the other Servants.

your details are off :3

the materialization cost of all berserkers is supposed to be higher than other servants.

he grabs a weapon flung at him from GoB with his hands and uses it to deflect the other weapon from the same volley. gil gets pissed and sends another volley at him, but he parries all of the weapons with the first weapon.
the telephone pole bit came later, after gil left. berserker picks up a telephone pole that had been knocked down by GoB and charges at saber with it.

I wouldnt be surprised if most of the stuff on wikipedia is just opinions and conjecture...hard facts are really hard to find because there are few japanese/english litterate people who are reading the novel and bothering to give out info.

I think volume 2 might have been released recently. Not sure. I havent heard any info about it from beast lair if it has.
