But the novel wasn't even present on the Oricon (overall) top-selling light novels for 2008. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...ovels-in-japan |

This sounds like pure rumors to me about a live action FMP let alone anything about Zack. |

Zac Efron has shown interest in the role of Sousuke, however showing interest and getting the part are 2 different things. |

Regardless what websites say,..
I know for a fact that FMP will never be a AMERICAN live action film, Japanese? Maybe. This is why.... It's a movie about a High School Student that brings weapons to school and causes mayham. ( -ahem- Columbine?) Bringing weapons to school is a very touchy subject for Americans and this storyline is gonna get rejected big time. I won't believe rumors. Am still waiting for Angelina Jolie to play Wonder Woman since 2004. You can find over 50 some google pages talking about that STILL.. I hate to sound harsh on this..but.. Don't hold your breath. I't won't happen. and if it does, it'd be like a spy movie and it'd look nothing like Full Metal Panic at all... Might as well call it High School Musical Fumoffu,... Mandalay can purchase anything it wants and resell it to someone else for profit. Buisnesses do this all the time. Looks like someone had fun running rumors. Besides, the book and the anime isnt even done, and almost 75% of the regular OTAKUS/Anime-Fans in the United States never even seen or heard of Full Metal Panic. Infact it was never even aired on Cartoon Network even. Naruto has more chances of being LIVE ACTION in the USA then..Full Metal Panic. |

Actually, thats even more troubling. If for a fact Mandaly bought the rights, and thye are going to make a movie, taking in consideration what you just said we can very well expect the movie to be a completely different thing form the original story. Think about it, they already screwed dragonball, is just a matter of time till they screw cowboy bebop and who knows what else.

At the end we will have not a Japanese environment. Probably they will make a movie that takes place in USA (like transformers). And, probably we will have a more "children" movie. So, I'm afraid of having a peaceful Sousuke and a calm Kaname.... I just don't want this movie. Someone ask where did I read the piece of news http://titania713.blogspot.com/ (this is where). I really trust this person. She has done the best translations of the FMP novel into Spanish. She is a real fan, so she wouldn't publish something that is not trust (the page is in Spanish, sorry for that)

I read that blog post and it did not say that the movie will not have a Japanese environment (unless I misunderstood your post in which I apologize). Also, has Transformers ever exclusively been set in Japan? Even then, each Transformers television was set up in a different time (considering all the different characters that joined up with the Transformers), so I do not see what the movie did wrong in making it set place in the United States. Transformers has a bit more liberty, I believe. Full Metal Panic has set locations, though.
I keep checking this thread to see if new info pops up, but none has appeared yet. I'm hoping we get more info soon. |
