As far as I could tell, OVA 1 takes place after episode 19, OVA 2 is after episode 35 and OVA 3 is probably best seen after episode 60. I was trying to figure these out a while back and my notes say that the third one takes place in the middle of episode 60.

I didn't watch the fourth OVA so I can't really comment on that.

I have watched all the OVAs and the TV series as well.
Those OVA are kinda like side stories and occurs in various points of the tv series.
Most of them are of the similar quality as the show.
(Slam dunk is one of the favorite show in my high school time)

I have to recommend OVA 4...if you're a Kaede fan that is.
But get ready for the drama.

Anyone know why episodes 99 - 101 were never released?

Try reading this thread, Slam Dunk (Where is it?). And it's locked for a reason (which can be determined by reading the forum rules).

Slam Dunk Question

I was just wonder what order do I watch the movies? Do I watch them after the series? Or maybe after certain episodes? I've looked all over and I can't seem to find anything. Any help will be greatly greatly greatly appreciated.

Thank you for listen

Edit - what about the fourth movie?

I got in to it through the Anime-Empire releases (Thanks guys!). I started playing basketball shortly beforehand and decided to check out Slam Dunk. I'd known about it for years but it never really interested me until I started playing, even though I knew it was really popular. Boy was I glad I checked it out. Sequels and new series? I wouldn't hold my breath but we can live in hope.

Hmm. What's up with the license in USA for Slam Dunk now?
Toei released some horrible dvds, and the response was as the quality of these dvds; horrible.
So I wonder if Slam Dunk's a licensed series that won't get any quality releases :/? Or no more at all?..

I think it would be cool if AnimeSuki "unlocked" it considering the shit DVD release.

The question is more if... there's a blocked license here, and nothing's gonna come out anymore...

From what I can tell from reading through the AoD forums is that Toei has pulled out of the Region 1 market altogether and both Slam Dunk and Air Master releases have long since ceased.

The video quality on the discs were pretty good but there were problems such as dubtitles and closed captioning, lack of chapter stops, omitted next episode previews, and after each episode finished it would take you back to the main menu (i.e. there was no "play all" option.)

These are all the problems I can remember off the top of my head but there may be more. I'll give it another year and if no one picks up the licence for SD I'll look for a HQ source and release a new subbed version.
