I have a feeling that this anime will become very popular just because of character designs with decent storyline and seiyuus. And yes, I did not notice that until where the part Maho argues with Subaru about getting better in basket in a short time, that is like Index arguing with Touma about magic theories. (Sorry I do not know this forums very well)

Finish ep2...
All I'll say is, sigh, like basically every single anime adaptation of LN, they just cut out WAY too many inner conversations...the inner working of Subaru is not there, the inner thinking of Tomoka is not there...not to mention, they cut out by far the best part of how Mihoshi got those tape in the first place... On side note, HanaKana did improve a little bit voicing Tomoka...still not quite hot-blood enough, though, her voice is just too cute... Next episode should be the game... |

Episode two was really sweet. A lot of focus on Basketball and Tomoka's past and little to no loli antics. Tomoka is so cute~ ("riding a bike together is wrong"). I'm looking forward to see what kind of strategy Subaru will come up with to defeat the boys. Apparently, Tomoka defeated them all by herself in the past, so will it really be that hard to beat them again?

Was it the boys basketball team that Tomoka beat before? I thought it seemed like it was an inter-class boys vs girls gym match. So not all the actual male basketball players were involved in that match. Or that was how I interpreted it.

A good episode to get into the heads of Subaru and Tomoka. Some definite similarities between them which of course helped fire Subaru up in terms of helping the team. Both have some great talents but things around them are acting against them. Subaru already lost his team and has been in a bad spot for a while now. Tomoka of course is losing the place that let her feel the game could be fun again. Couldn't do anything for his team, but at least Subaru can help out here.
Could see how everything would damage Subaru's desire to get into things. Even when his club is back up and running I doubt the long term nickname of 'lolicon club' is going to vanish very quickly and that will just hurt attempts to recruit guys to play for the team. Could be years until that damage is undone. While coaching isn't going to really let him play maybe it will give him a push to find a way to play again and use his talents. Glad that in the end Subaru still won the showdown. Sure Tomoka was avoiding using her jump shot, but still think Subaru would have handled things. Nothing wrong with having someone that's supposed to be talented and more experienced win over someone that is talented but younger.

Very informative episode 2. No loli fanservice this time but plenty of backstory about Moka and how the female basketball club came to exist.
And man, Subaru is a really good MC. My opinion of him was mostly neutral at first but he has resolve AND knows how to treat his lolis. Extra points for not holding back against Moka in their 1 vs 1 match. |

nice ep!
they really depict the basketball part of the story then we will see more because the next ep will be more serious training and it should be the match in ep 4 so little fanservice in ep 1 and 2 is totally acceptable However, the damage are done some viewer has dropped this after ep 1 they have missed something good by judging a book by its cover the match reminded me a little bit of "Sannoh vs Shohoku" match in Slam Dunk of course, the quality is far from that one but some of the strategies are inherited from it That's why I think Subaru has done a great job even Anzai sensei can't do anything better than Subaru to help those girls |

For some reason, Subaru's VA (Yuuki Kaji) reminds of Atsushi Abe (played as Touma in Index) and Hiro Shimono (Kaji-san actually sounds so much like him that I thought Hiro was here for a while., LOL)
Man, just can't get enough of Maho! When she argues with Subaru, it actually reminds me about how Index and Touma argue about magic. |
