I was hoping this wouldn't happen. What made this manga different from all the other mecha anime/manga was that the protagonist was actually human and possessed a mecha that was able to be damaged in battle as well. This whole invicible sword thing sounds way too fake and hackneyed to me frankly. Why not just repair it?

Rygart walks away telling the king that should they remain alive after the war and Hodr still feel this way about Sigyn , then he would beat the crap out of the king and take sigyn away from this place. As Rygart walks away, Hodr is happy and Rygart can hear the voice of Girge in his mind telling him that he is being stupid again.

First and foremost, lol at the spirit of Girge telling Rygart that he is stupid for keeping to his own honor. Sigyn is pretty much gift wrapped for the taking but Rygart wants all his friends to live so he is pretty much staying to insure their survival. At least Rygart made it clear that if Hodr still feels like giving Sigyn up to him, he is going to take her by beating him up and leaving with her (probably with her slung over his shoulder) to live off happily ever after.

As for the new material used, you are probably right about it being a rarity and that it will probably be used to create one weapon. I am probably going to speculate that the quartz/metal is going to be used to created a single sword in the same type that Girge used in honor of him.

actually it would seem that some of the damage suffered by Dirfringe since it got recovered in ch43 are irreparable due their lack of understanding of its inner-workings. Adding parts to the Dirfringe is really their way of repairing it since they don't know how to repair and maintain the parts dirfringe lose in the first place. and i doubt the sword would be invincible anyways, its just gear that would last longer in battles. Instead of loading the Dirfringe with weapons and thick Armour like its a mobile armoury/fortress and having Rygart break every single one of them half way through a battle like they have done in the past. Loading it with fewer but higher quality parts works better in the long run since it saves cost and cuts down re-arming time(perhaps a increase in maintenance time for the weapons themselves) and increase his effectiveness in combat.

What has me worried about this is the amount of time available. As the invading army is quickly approaching(perhaps its time for Orland to make their move). And in ch44 they are still selecting the the mineral that will be used for this sword. And the test which this said mineral passed was simply because it failed to break and was only dented and malformed at dirfringe's attempt at breaking it. It still remains a large slab by the end of the chapter though.

I dont mind the weapon upgrade - i mean it is certainly better than "invincible armor" so he can ram whomever right? Also the weapon is probably the "least important" upgrade compared to armor and the heat issue.

So it would seem that their manipulation of materials through quartz are not going work very well on this mineral so they are going to attempt a primative form of metallurgy to form the weapon. Interesting, but then time is going to play a factor since it would appear that the enemy is literally at the gate. Man, we are going to have to wait another month to see how this plays out.

Ah, well that makes it better I suppose. Of course, there is still the issue with Lygatto's skill with dirfinge, which is obviously skill lacking. Not to mention he just charges head first into everything.

But... I noticed that the Movie and in this Thread... most people have gone from using the manga name Lygatto to the name Rygart....

I think Lygatto sounds and looks better tho.
and Zeus becomes Zess (Zeus sounds powerfuler - cause it's the name for King of Gods)

Anyways... yea... Lygatto doesn't really have any skill in Mecha control, as he hasn't learn how to really operate any Machine at all, because all Machines are controlled by Quartz.
Which means it's Lygatto's first time using an actual Machine.
Thus we can call him a Newbie and NOOB... cause he's new to Mecha and have no skill, LOL.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with Lygatto. Majority of his attacks have been head on and tactics is something that this person has been lacking. Still, you have General Bard and Captain Sakura left to at least teach him some valuable fighting/tatics skills before he goes off again to fight.

As for the parallels, are not the two examples mentioned somewhat end in tradegy for the main characters.

Nice Cleo cover. Chapter is pretty much a continuation of Athens starting to attack the city. We get to see more of Captain Sakura and how the city is defended. It is interesting that we get to see Rygart's little brother and how he saves a cripple little girl, gaining a fan in the process. The chapter ends with the Athen's cycloptic general sitting inside his golem looking on during the attack.

Yeah to add onto that. Basically the enemies are pouring into a bottleneck and are getting pounded by the defenders. We do see general sakura in the frontline and she's are basically saying either way this was not going to end pretty and they will be in for the long haul and will depend on troops morale. Then we see the psycho general on a cliff (with some sinister golems in the backgound) saying "i will break through within 2 weeks...."


I think what he is doing is maybe weaken a side of the fortress while the main forces are duking it out then invade from within. He could also maybe jump from high elevation but we dont see the full map so hard to tellSince the defenders are all equipped with guns and probably wont have a melee weapon handy if the psycho general do it right he could take out a huge chunk of the defenders with melee before they could react. So I see the general succeeds in coming in BUT gets beaten back by Rygart and his new weapon.

If theres one thing I know is that if the bad guys break into the city it's all over, no amount of super golem or whatever can save it.
When the enemy breaks into your city, thats it game over.

If anything I hope Rygart brings the fight to em outside the city.

or I guess the other country makes it in the nick of time to help out.
