One of my current projects is to take a picture every day for a year and post them on my non-anime weblog. Some examples:

Willow
Not-so-hot rod
DVD-R
Clematis
Ferocactus
Ceiling construction

This is a picture from Lapinjärvi, a small town about 100km north from the capital of Finland. The statue in the picture is at the shore at a rather distant location (no roads) and the weather was rainy. For some reason it looks lonely.

I try it most of the time when there are thunderstorms at night. This was my 2nd one. The first one I managed to catch on picture was in 2005 during a nasty storm and it was really impressive!

More pictures I took and would like to share. Figured I'd put them in a desktop size this time.

This is in my backyard:

Also my backyard. We shot fireworks off for my birthday.

This is down at the park near my house.

I like the pictures of the lightning, made me want to try to get a shot of one.

A few pictures taken with a Sony Ericsson K810i. The pictures are quite nice for a mobile phone ^^

I kinda liked the blur on this one.

We don't often get a beautiful blue sky without a single cloud here.

I took a picture of the sky by chance and really liked how it came out. Liked it enough that it's now my desktop wallpaper.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

@reisan - Yes that's my dog. Unfortunatly her health has taken a turn for the worse lately. I don't know how much longer she's going to be around.

Also to compliment matradley's bee photo here's a photo of a honey bee in action:

I love it! Nice quality - it really puts perspective on the hardworking bee.

The "digital camera the size of a cell phone" thread got me back into posting some of my photos. Since it's now close to the end of leaves season here, here are a few of these from this year. These are from Kamakura's Engaku-ji earlier today. Too many temples in Kamakura to visit on one day, and way, IMHO, too many tourists.

The camera used is a Nikon D-200 D-SLR with the VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G lens; the settings are listed separately

The "trees overlooking the pond" image has been cropped to minimize the size of the file after saving as a JPEG. (Note to self: Have to find a better way to convert, save, and upload digital photos after converting from RAW. )

(at 1/80 secs and f/4.8)

(at 1/125 secs and f/11)

(at 1/200 secs and f/11)
