There's already a demo available for 360 and PS3, ditto about PC.

Actually made me facepalm reading that.

Typical nonsense from EA.

Eh all I really need is my trusty plasma cutter, don't really care too much about the DLC required weapons.

It's not that they're DLC-required, just that if you lack what you need to make it you can just buy it off of marketplace. Basically the epitome of lazy.

If it weren't for Far Cry 3, I'd say "3" is cursed for games lately. ._.

So, the microtransaction thing is more like a short cut? What you can buy with money, you can also buy with in-game funds?

As long as said microtransactions are optional, I'm entirely fine with it. ME3 has something similar where instead of farming credits in MP, you can simply use Bioware points to buy your reinforcement packs. You don't HAVE to though, and I myself have every single MP character (save the Volus Vanguard) and weapon without having paid a single cent for them. This looks to be similar, where you can simply buy your way into making the game easier using real cash, but you can get the components the old-fashioned and free way too.

People who are bad at the game can just buy the best weapons at the start and then BOOM easy ride. EA strikes again.

So the new planet-cracker in this game is called the CMS Roanoke?

...

Not the wisest choice for naming a ship, I think.

Finished the game.

Glad that i didn't buy it. It was awful.
The story ? meh , unless you love Hollywood typical movies with dumbass plot. Full of cliches. Norton , Elly.... even Isaac's acting.... wow it was unbearable...

The gameplay ? Yeah the craft system is pretty cool but at the same times , it makes the game easier so so.
But it's not really the problem , the problem is only one single ammo type , lol too easy...
Secondary quests = boring.

And seriously , the gunfights were terrible... action packaging with 0 AI.

The end ? obvious ending is obvious...

Story, it's dead space what else do you want from the story, acting and interest in characters are subjective. You may find the acting unbearable, I personally didn't mind the acting at all. But who cares I just want to shoot some aliens, and see some cool moments.

Secondary quests are redundant though, and I'm not a huge fan of the weapon crafting system myself but it's not a terrible change and I can adjust.

Gun fights, well duh humans aren't supposed to be your main threat they're just puny humans with bad aim, the necromorphs should ALWAYS be the main threat and I'm glad they didn't make the humans a huge challenge.

The end, good guy stops plot, the end. What the hell do you expect??????

In conclusion, Pfft matter of opinion. I bought this game full price and while I made the mistake of finishing the game on an all nighter, I still enjoyed the game quite a bit and it wasn't the disaster I expected it to be. I'm on my third playthrough and my first co-op playthrough with a friend and I'm still having a good time, sounds like someones expectations were a little high.

How does DS3 stack up to DS2? Dead Space 2 didn't come quite as close as number 1's awesomeness, but I still enjoyed it greatly. If the third game is at least around and good as number 2 I think I'll go for it.

I certainly enjoyed it, story isn't up to par but Dead Space wasn't known for it story anyhow so its okay. The gameplay however is very good, replay ability is also very good since there are multiple toys (guns) to craft to enjoy killing in different ways. The trusting plasma cutter is an excellent weapon, I recommend it to all new comers, it is essentially the only gun you need if you are able to make it shoot semi-automatic though its overpowered. There was also another weapon I used, it worked as a sniper rifle that is always a one hit kill anywhere on the body but if use correctly even in tight quarters it is the best weapon for quick kills when facing few enemies though problematic when encounter the waves of necromorphs that is a horde similar to skeletons due to having at best 4 shots in a clip. Overall, the game is great I would definitely say it is worth the money.
