She doesn't have to stalk Kira, they're practically joined at the hip after she escaped with the Eternal.
My vote would be Relena for the role model. Can't say anything about Sayla having been unable to complete UC.

So, while she clearly does make a very good role model, she's also pretty much unachievable. Relena- about the same can be said about her, except she is less perfect and comes with a boy-obsession She's also a good real-life role model, with the drawback being that she- like Lacus- is also in a high position of power by default, thus they get minus points for not being completely accessible to most girls with aspirations Cagalli- obviously also in a power position by default, but I think she gets massive points for putting herself out there with the ordinary, weak soldiers/ people/ children in Africa (right?), and fighting alongside them. She has a strong personality, and skills. If we ignore that she was stupid and annoying in Destiny, she might be a pretty good choice of role model. Marina- well. I guess she could have been. As it is, she's sure a good role model, if you aspiration is to be a kindergarten teacher I did really feel sorry for her though, she had a few strong female lead points, but it never led anywhere... as for Noin vs Relena: I don't think the mobile suit had anything much to do with it, though it was pretty cool in a show that had no other female pilots. She might be a bit of a doormat, compared to Relena, but if we leave Zechs out of it, she's still a strong female character who fights for what she believes in, she has the skills to stand her own ground pretty much wherever you throw her (because she's a soldier), and her personality is fine too. I guess the hot boyfriend helped too (no offense to Heero) Basically, she was a strong female character, who could kick ass. Sure, Relena can too, but more subtly so. They're both different, and it's not as if Noin isn't equally likeable as Relena, in my book at least o_O Besides, I always found her to be rather underrated compared to Relena... |

Another point in Noin's favor: Throughout the show, she's keeping up with the rest of the G-boys and Zechs. In a freaking Taurus.
Give Noin a Gundam and she'd be a wind of destruction through the battlefield.

Oh, and my fave female char? It’s gotta be Haman Karn during Zeta Gundam, a genuine strong, graceful, independent, and commanding female character who never get dumbed down by fanservice shots and remains consistent throughout the series. She’s a rare species that you won’t find very often in today’s anime industry.

Sigh.... I see only few votes for Selene McGriff. She's probably the best female gundam pilot in the whole metaseries. C'mon, I mean she literally pawned a veteran pilot with a non-combat suit. Depite being a side story, she is the main pilot of a titular gundam. Not many female characters can be said the same.
Other girls I liked: Christie McKenzie (War In The Pocket) - The other main female pilot. Elpeo Ple (Gundam ZZ) - Annoying at first but once she matured a bit, she started to become likable. Marida Cruz (Gundam Unicorn) - (who wouldn't want a grown-up Puru? Tiffa Adill (Gundam X) - The fact that she have better character development than other girls in the franchise is enough for an explanation. Aila Jyrkienen (Build Fighters) - Probably the only tsundere character in the entire franchise. I liked her interaction with Reiji. More of that please. What's with the "she can't pilot so she's useless" mentality? Last edited by suiken; 2014-05-21 at 19:26. |

My vote goes for:
Lacus Clyne, she's my all time favorite female character in all Gundam series. I like the way she states her opinion and the influence of her words to the characters. Beauty and Brain. Next is Marina Ismail, I like how they portray her and Setsuna's different way of achieving the same goal and how she sticks to what she knows on how to achieve understanding. Lastly Relena |
