I think he is trying to lay low by faking his death.

That might be good reason but is it really necesery to give all the fans such a backstab? Having to wait nearly a month for next chapter is just cruel it's understandble that people may get worn out sometimes but i still don't like it now if you'll excuse im gonna go cry in a corner

Drawing manga IS a stressful job. Read the mangaka's afterthoughts in any tankubon of any series, and you'll most likely see them "grumbling" about their editors and schedule. I should say that the weekly series are the ones with the hectic schedule. Those twice-a-month or monthly series are obviously at a slower pace.

Who knows? Allen could take care of a lv 3 as if it were a lv 2 as if it were a Lv 1... But if they were Lv 3s, that would mean 2 things.

1. Lv 3s are becoming more widespread and active, and even taking part in Innocence hunt.

2. Kanda got a power up

And this chapter just gives me total DMC vibes, what's with Kanda and Allen slashing up Akumas with their contrasting blades. (( Need I mention that Cross's gun got left behind?

LOL I know. I meant that I liked the first design better..with the black handle and cross on it .Now it's completely katana-generic like Nightengale said so kinda lost some of the DGray gothic-vibe.Same goes with the uniform.
Meh, I'm just very western-orientated, haha.

There's only so many ways to design a Katana, and the original Mugen was a very simple design to begin with, it's not really even goth and is very common anyway

But maybe the cool part comes when he uses his 3rd/4th illusion

The theory of "fake death" sounds interesting, but it doesn't explain the left-behind gun. Unless it was left behind to make the death more realistic. If that is the case, then Cross must be confident of his powers. Because Grave of Maria is mostly, if not, only for defensive purposes.

Now that I think about, I wonder if he used Magdala Curtain to make himself disappear.

fake death is interesting I agree as well but it just doesn't look right. if he faked his death with suicide why was the curtain ripped, that is a clear sign that soemthing had happened unless he thought heck might as well rip that apart before blowing my brains out. it doesn't make sense...

if it is a fake death scene then yes he must be very confident and he's probably looking around for a solution for Allen, and if not were probably going to see him again ebign evil in the future chaps X3

Or maybe she's just saving it for later, hmm. That was just like the shortest chapter yet..growls Don't really like the new uniform change..still prefer the black & white period better. Good to see Mugen finally repaired but ahhhhh its gone eastern-style as well sigh.
